  1. Hello @dwdafefse and welcome to the forum Something may have broken. Please try to remove the installation with the following: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed and then try to install it again.

  5. Until someone with more knowledge than I get to answer this, please have a look at this option:
  6. Hello @Aadya and Welcome to the forum I have moved your query as a new topic. Please give us some more information. Did you just download PDN? What type of computer? And are you using the Classic version, or store bought? First please try the PdnRepair.exe which is found in the Paint.net folder. You can find it via Run: Run is accessible via WinKey+R, or by right-clicking the Start button and then clicking on Run.
  7. Hello @KMZ welcome to the forum Please try using the AA's Assistant on your image, on a transparent background, before flattening it. It may help
  8. Hello @Rachel-Sz welcome to the forum Here are a couple to get you going: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/16347-circle-text/ https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/113205-circular-text/
  9. Fantastic tutorial @Djisves thank you I realized after doing this rendition, that I didn't have @MadJik's latest Rays Plugin. So I downloaded the one you linked to, then thought I'd lost it, as it's now in Textures 🤣 I wonder where @MadJik is these days? Hope you are well wherever your are @MadJik Here's my rendition of your tutorial @Djisves
  10. Hello @Star I guess you are looking for a crumpled/aged paper effect? Here is a simple tutorial for achieving that effect:
  11. Hello @Laceydesigns and welcome As you already know about Brush Factory, you can add brushes to that. I'd suggest you down load some watercolor brushes - I got some from here: https://www.deviantart.com/mcbadshoes/art/Watercolor-Brushes-104914510 If you are not a Deviant Art member, then you can google for free water color brushes. If they are not in the abr. format, you can use abrViewer to change them into abr. Once done, add your watercolor brush to Brush Factory and off you go. I believe, sometime in the future @Rick Brewster will be adding a few more brush options to Paint.net itself which, at the moment, has only one paint brush setting.
  12. It's very unusual to lose one's plugins upon an update. Can you make sure that your effects folder is in the correct place. i.e. This PC > OS(C:) > Program Files > paint.net - you should see Effects File and FileTypes in here. Take a look in those to see if you have the missing Plugins.
  13. @Rick Steinwand hello and welcome to the forum Did you buy from the store, or did you download the free version from this site?
  14. Please open Paint.net anew and go to the cog wheel (settings) in the right hand corner, top of the toolbar. Go to Diagnostics and copy to clipboard and paste the results here.
  15. Hi @Carla It's okay - alpha-masks do my head in too 😁 They work by remembering what you copied to clipboard, so that you can overlay what's on the clipboard over another existing layer. I think we need to ask @Djisves whether, in the first steps - creating the Rays - whether we have to have the 2nd color white, turned down to transparent, so that we only make black rays. I think that's what he means. This would make a big difference. I'll keep trying - unless he gets back first - but my computer is playing up and I can't figure out what's going on. Hang in there
  16. Definitely if you are downloading from this site And, welcome to the forum @braindead me which really describes me these days 🤣
  17. Hi @Carla I think @Djisves means to use the other one called Switch Gray to Alpha instead of Switch Alpha to Grey @Djisves Forgive me if I'm wrong here. I've been trying to follow your steps and have a problem using Switch Alpha to Gray, which turns the layer black. Also, since an MS update, and a recent update of PDN I am experiencing a lot of trouble with Paint.net. It's lagging and freezing, so I've not been able to try you tutorial again. Of course, it may be my computer too. Nice tutorial though
