  1. I don't think it being avoided. For all we know better TGA support may be being looked at. I can't say it is or is not but you never know. When your in Paint.NET go to help and then click about. Scroll down till you see this: Rick is working with what he got for TGA as far as I know (Don't take my word on that as only Rick can say for sure that he is still using David Pizzolato code). Any improvements to the code would be good but remeber he working with someone elses code for TGA. Also TGA is not used much here from what I seen so that means there less error reports on it. Less error reports means there less things to look into for it. You know the saying "Why fix it, if it not broken". Well if you don't know it broken then how can you fix it.
  2. I don't think thats it at all. Just go to help and click about. Then scroll through the Credits. You will see things like TGA File Format support code adapted from the CxImage library by David Pizzolato, http://www.xdp.it/cximage.htm. FremyCompany you never know that website may be of help to Rick and who know maybe you will be able to get TWAIN to work along side WIA. It all depens on what has to been done. Only Rick can decide if he will be able to do it and put out a public copy of Paint.NET. However seeing you got the code and you want TWAIN you could download Paint.NET code and add it in yourself to see if it works. I am not joking, many people would love to know if it can work. I not sure how good it would be though seeing even the guy who made it says you should use WIA for best performance
  3. I looked at the zip and I was sure they were the same files you posted over here viewtopic.php?f=12&t=24324. I not to sure what going on with TGA. It a format I don't use. I have seen color problems with TGA files in Paint.NEt before and the only thing I can tell you to do is, make your images another format like PNG and use another program to convert them over to TGA. If you don't have another program that can do TGA there is a free image converting tool out there. I use it for textures in games as that what it was made for. It called DDS converter 2 and even though it was made to convert images to DDS it can also convert any image file type it supports to another image file type that it supports. EG: PNG to TGA.
  4. Yes Paint.NET is still supported. It just that (A) No one understands your problem, ( Never seen the problem, or © Your not being clear enough on the problem. For me it is all 3 of them. I don't understand the problem your having, your the 1st person I have seen report this problem and I been here since the year 2005, I also don't understand your 1st post and the layout of your images examples. Sorry I can't be of any help to the problem but I do hope this post will help you help us understand the prroblem more.
  5. This one Rick is a problem as it looks like a button you made for users to click and download Paint.NET.
  6. F1 Manythings can be learned just from that. I am not joking, I found things in there that I didn't even know about.
  7. redundant ? Yes a search would have been the best thing to do 1st to see if anyone else had the problem and if there were any methods to fix the error. If search was a fail then you would have no choice but to post for help. Opening old topic ? No if the topic is old and the person is having the same peoblem as you but you could not find your answer then it best to create a new topic instead of bring a old one back to life. It just keeps a clean list of bug reports I think. Anyway back to your problem. When you select a small area you will need to go out side the area you selected to move that selected area without resizing. You can have an object selected at the top of the canvas and still be able to move it by clicking anywere within the canvas. You don't have to try and move the selected area by clicking it directly. Hope that helps. If you need to know anything else just ask . HITMAN-X-,
  8. Well I don't enter contests that much because I lack art skill but this one sounded like fun so I gave it a try. Now don't laugh . My entry The Before and After gif
  9. Does this know how to find Paint.NET if it is installed in another folder. EG: D:/Paint.NET
  10. Did you try what I said in my last post here ?
  11. What version of Paint.NET were you using before you updated. The problem looks like it dropshadow. Most of the plugins people download need to be updated when Paint.NET updates. This could be the problem and you may have an older version of dropshadow that can't be supported in 3.31. Go to the plugin part of the forums and find dropshadow. Take a look at the topic and see if there been any updates, you can even redownload the plugin and install it again to see if that will work.
  12. That tut should have been locked just for doing the whole tut in an image. Why should the reader suffer from having to try and read the image to understand it. Now back on track. Tutorials would not be getting locked so often if people just "Read the Rules and Guidelines". But people offen don't or do but don't think they apply to them. If your not willing to play ball with everyone else then why should everyone else play ball with you ? I sorry but I just don't feel the same way about killing of tutorials with duplicates that are a little better. Instead of trying to kill of the tutorial you should try contacting the creator of the real tutorial and suggesting he / she fix this or that and add this and that. Some tutorial makers find it upsetting to see someone else copy there tutorial word for word and then add one or two things in it and then claim it to be 100% theres. I know I am one of them. I seen someone copy my fonts tutorial word for word and then add one more step for adding fonts that wont work for PDN to it using the same steps again with one word being .ttf change to another format. They posted it as a topic which got locked, so then they posted it in my fonts tutorial topic and told people to contact them instead. I don't know if you know what that feels like but it does not feel good. I am happy we have such good mods here at PDN, such as David, Ash, and Boltbait who don't get enough credit for all there hard work. There keeping this place neat. As for people looking away from topics because there locked I can't say thats all true. I find there to many tutorials to go through. So if I can't find it on the 1st or 2nd page I do a search on the effect I am looking for in tutorials. I can't tell a topic is locked untill I go in it and view it because search only shows me output. I also found that in the tutorial part of the forums that I don't look at the icon to see if it is locked or not. Only time I look at them is if there orange and I only look at them then because they catch my eye. //Don't take any of that as an attack. It just my opinion and feelings on the matter, I understand that the part about duplicates may sound like an attack but its not. It just gets to me.
  13. sabrown100 I am not sure if this been asked yet but will you be adding a button to the plugin so people could delete brushes instead of having to go to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My Documents\Paint.NET User Files\Custom Brushes and finding the brush you no longer want.
  14. You don't have the same error so you may want to make a new topic for your problem. That way you will get better help as most people are going to be like me and looking at this topic thinking your replyed to TopHATslash problem which I belive he fixed. You may also want to post your error in the plugin topic for the plugins giving you problems.
  15. You need to wait for a reply. Spaming the forums with more topics when you already posted your question in another topic is not going to help you. You really should read the rules before posting again. It will help you more then you may think and it may help you from getting your topic locked.
  16. Does it let you pick the folder that your saving to ? Are there any video files in the folder your trying to save to ? if so you should move them to another folder as Divx codec for videos has been know to cause saving and opening problems.
  17. So did you get the updated Plugins for 3.31 as any plugins that were for older versions will most likely not work.
  18. You will have to find the plugins that don't work and check to see if they have updated ones for the new vision of Paint.NET.
  19. I did a tutorial long ago and there a link to it in my sig on how to install Paint.NET on a CD, USB, or any other storage media. This may be of help to you. As for Administrator Priveleges being needed I say thats a good thing. Some places don't want you to install programs on there computers even if they are a nice program for image editing. I know if I were a Network Administrator (Which is one of the classes I passed with an 85) that I would not want users running wild on the system doing what ever they want. To keep it clean they can come to me and ask me if I could install it for them.
  20. that is strange. I have seen something like this before in windows were you right click for a file menu and then when you left click the mouse keeps doing the right click action instead.
  21. the problem is the dots in that format. It thinks it a file format called .06.08.
  22. Well besides that this was said before I really think you all need to drop the subject. If Rick wants a PDN book don't you think he would do one his self as he does have CafePress now and they do let you make books.
  23. Ya you got some permissions settings done wrong I think and now other accounts are using the file when your trying to. I go through it with ya but its a lot of typing for me and I got a feeling your mom don't want you playing God with the computer. Reason I said to keep it check is because it would have put the font in the Windows font folder keeping it installed. I never installed a font with it unchecked but I think it will look for the font else were after it is installed. This could be bad.
