  1. Sure, but who uses that? Seriously, SP2 was pushed through Auto Update a long time ago. Wait I don't understand what your hitting at BB. SP2 for XP also does not have .NET Framework. If it did I would not be installing .NET Framework 1.1 and 2.0 on College computers with XP SP2.
  2. It looks like your old version of Paint.NET got deleted. Go get the Windows Installer Cleanup Tool from here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;290301 and run it. Find Paint.NET on it list and uninstall it using that tool. Then redownload Paint.NET and try installing again.
  3. Try repairing the .NET Framework. Then use the Paint.NET Repair tool found in the Paint.NET folder. Do the above 1st. Now it time for questions. Have you ever deleted Paint.NET before ? Have you moved Paint.NET around on your Computer ? Are you logged in as an admin as Paint.NET needs admin rights for installing and uninstalling from my understanding.
  4. Most automatic scans are fast scans. They take a fast look at a file and move on. You should do full scans once a month. Also as I said before, Your ISP has notthing to do with the IE program. So any bugs in there are your problem not theres. There job is just to give you access in and out of the backbone. Also make sure you got a good virus scanner. I have had virus scanners that I paid for like Northen and it got out beat by a free virus scanner that could fine more virus.
  5. Before your topic gets locked by a mod. I will point you to some topics that you may want to read. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446 viewtopic.php?f=15&t=856 Also using F1 in Paint.NET will give you a help menu for things like tools. I find the lasso to be a pain so I use the wand.
  6. It has already been suggested. I not sure were the post is but if you search you may find it with some answers . If your really lucky maybe someone will make a filetype plugin. Maybe that person could be you . I not sure if the .NET Framework would even be able to support animated gifs.
  7. True Type Fronts not recognized on windows ?, Were did you download the font(s) ? Have unziped the font file ? Have you tryed other fonts to make sure it not just this one ?.
  8. He using IE so it not like firefox with the preset option of a download folder. When your downloading from IE and it pops a box up in front of you. Make sure you click Save and pick your Desktop. I would also do a few scans as your ISP has notting to do with the program IE. So if IE is acting up then you may have a virus or adware.
  9. Ah I see your trying to install Paint.NET. You don't have it installed yet. I would not say SP3 is the problem as I have install Paint.NET already on about 50 Computers with SP3. I guessing the problem is Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0. I know I have had problems with Symantec protection software before with install programs. It seems it blocking some actions that Paint.NET need to do for installing. Here some steps to try. 1) Log in as a Admin 2) Turn of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 3) Run Paint.NET Installer 4) If Paint.NET installed, test run it 5) If test run worked then you should turn on Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 6) Test run again to see if it will work with Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 7) If all is good then you can log of as a admin and go back to your normal user account
  10. Is there a crash log on your desktop ?. If so could you post the contents. You can also run the pdn repair tool found in the Paint.NET folder. Default install folder for Paint.NET is C:\Program Files\Paint.NET
  11. You could try the Search tool that comes with windows to try and find were you saved it to. You could also just redownload it and save it somewere that you will remember. Once downloaded you will need to unzip it and run the exe file. Make sure you got the .NET Framework 2.0 or higher install 1st. HITMAN,
  12. To do that with line/curve must take a lot of skill. Even if you did use another image to reference. It was still done free hand. I though it was the best icon out of all your icons and was just wondering how you did it. The effect just came out so well.
  13. Expiration you say you only used one stock so I have to know how did you do the world for that internet icon ?
  14. Not a problem, happy you got it working again.
  15. Welcome to Vista ! Were being admin does not mean anything unless you tell the computer that you want to have rights.
  16. I will ask some questions that may sound dumb but I have to ask them as I don't use Vista (For good reasons). One: are you an Admin ?, If not then log on as one and try again. Two: have you turn of VB Runtime, or uninstalled it ? Three: Have you done a virus scan of your computer to ensure that VB runtime and script has not be damaged. I am guessing your not logged in as a user like the admin who has permissions for installing and uninstall some apps. Matter a fact the error code you got when you tryed to install Windows Installer CleanUp Utility is "Permission denied".
  17. No you must have .NET Framework installed to install, run, and uninstall Paint.NET. However I don't think thats the problem. See you deleted Paint.NET so it should still show up in add/remove programs but give you an error when trying to remove it. Number 3 in that topic should of told you how to fix this by giving you a link to another topic that has information on uninstalling Paint.NET using a Windows Installer CleanUp Utility program.
  18. I think you will find your answer here viewtopic.php?f=10&t=854
  19. I am not to sure what the problem is for 1603 but their been many posts about it and many answers that worked for some people. All I can really say is to go to search and type in 1603 here on the forums and start looking through the other post about it to see if any offer anything helpful.
  20. ya I not to sure if I should just say welcome to the forums or not. Any errors on the forums like that one are more then likely to be a problem with forumers SQL database. There not to much any one can do but hope that forumer will fix it.
  21. Ok I just guessed he was running in 1024x768 as I found the windows hugh myself in that mode. But Rick what about this minimize windows he been talking about. I don't have this option in my Paint.NET so is it there ? If not it does sound like something useful as I hate closing them windows out myself and re-opening them. If may be a nice option to have were you can minimize the windows to a windows tray.
  22. huh, you can close out the windows such as tools, history, layers, and color but you can't minimize them. I am not sure what your talking about as you claim you can minimize the others even though it unsupport from what I can tell. Also if your tools, history, layers, and color windows are really big it most likely because your running at a low resolution.
  23. Thanks for the replies  It's still coming through corrupted on both Download.com and dotPDN links, in both Opera and Firefox3. I did manage to get a clean download from one of them last night after almost a dozen attempts, so I've got it installed now, and it runs ok. good to hear you got it working but to have so many download problems from both sites I think you may want to try a few things. One virus scan to make sure you don't got any virus or worms that could be messing with the downloads. Two adware clean up, and three check your network cables and try new ones to make sure there not damage. Also make sure that your network cables are not running next to items that can cause EMI. If your cables are shielded then EMI does not happen as much but un-shielded and EMI happens. It funny as I am doing programming and networking and on the network side we told how and were we should run cables. My home made UTP cable is running behind my tv, stereo, on top of power cables, coaxial tv cable. But I guess even if there were problems on my line I would not see them as my 2nd cable is for my NIC is set up to work with the 1st one and are both seen as 1 2GB NIC.
  24. Redownload it again to insure that it did not become corrupted when downloading. Also were did you download from ?
