Having problems installing
HITMAN-X- replied to halostryker's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
Bad idea. Never delete Paint.NEt. It will not fix it but give you more errors when you go to install a newer version. Try these steps Reboot your computer Run the Paint.NET repair it can be found in your install folder for Paint.NET. It called PdnRepair.exe. Do a repair on your .NET Framework I hope that helps. However if not coiuld you go to the debug part of the error message and take a screen shot for us. Alos give us some info on your system such as OS and Ram. -
Anyone have an icq, to chat about pain.net
HITMAN-X- replied to rkcim's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I am not sure how many people would give out personal information like that on a forum. Exspecialy one that gets so many users and web bots. There is a Paint.NET chat room however. You can find information on it in the off-topic thread. However before you go there you will need to look at this topic viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446 as it will be very helpful to you when you post again. -
Update Notification Suggestion
HITMAN-X- replied to Zyxil's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Edit by Rick: Don't suggest people turn off auto-updates. That's actually a VERY bad thing to do, for many reasons. -
Seems my 1st guess was right .

Photo-Manip #5 Designing The Board (Jake2K Wins)
HITMAN-X- replied to jerkfight's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I though you would have given people two extra days to work on this as the forum was down for 2 full days with no way to view or get that image. -
nan I think this is more off topic then spotted. Better question is why would you need a facebook page. It's a program not a person. As for people posting on funwalls and what not, I don't see a point of it other then to comfuse people. Think about it, people use the forums here to communicate to each other. Now if people are talking on both the forums and facebook then we going to have mixed up communications and I not sure about others but it bad enough going through the pages of the off topic thread let alone have to jump from website to website. Sorry that just my out look on it.

Can you tell use what 嘗試讀取或寫入受保護的記憶體。這通常表示其他記憶體已損毀 is in english ? So far the only thing I can come up with for that is a bad font file installed on your system. EDIT: Nevermind I translated it. The attempt read or reads in the memory which protects. This usually expressed that other memories have damaged

There has been many Drop Shadow errors reported and most of them are the same problem. The plugin version of Drop Shadow you got is not up to date with the new version of Paint.NET. Also you should read this topic before this one gets locked. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=23939

paint.net doesn't list my default printer
HITMAN-X- replied to larryg's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
Make sure your printer is supported by WIA. If it not then it wont work for Paint.NET. -
big trouble installing/uninstalling or even updating pdn
HITMAN-X- replied to dazman's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
It there. It just out dated. You can get 3.5 if you like seeing it will be needed when PDN upgrades to 4.0. system restore = more errors system recovery = Ok if used right. -
Did you update Paint.NET ? If so then you will need to download the updated versions of most of / all of your plugins for the new version of Paint.NET inorder for Paint.NET to work.

Error - 'The application failed to initialize properly'
HITMAN-X- replied to Dalian's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
Good to hear. However if you never did the anti-virus check then you really should. If the problem did happen because of that Worm then it only going to happen again and to other programs as well. So it better to be safe then sorry. -
Error - 'The application failed to initialize properly'
HITMAN-X- replied to Dalian's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
I will try to be short on this as I am on my Linux server and the keyboard is shot. Your OS is Vista or XP ? I ask as error code 0xc000007b is all over the web for Vista. There reports of a Worm called WORM_KLEZ.E going around causing this error for many programs. There reports that Vista gives this error if it has a conflict with the anti-virus program installed. I suggest updating and running your anti-virus software to insure it not the Worm. If no luck on that, I would repair .NET Framework to see if that works. You can also try a Paint.NET repair. Good luck, HITMAN-X- -
big trouble installing/uninstalling or even updating pdn
HITMAN-X- replied to dazman's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
Ok so you had Paint.NET installed on your Computer. You then moved all of Paint.NET to another device. You formated your whole computer, meaning you deleteded all of Paint.NET registrys, and .NET Framework and Windows itself. Am I right so far ? So now you installed Windows XP on your computer again and are starting clean. So you moved Paint.NET of the other device back onto your computer and got the .NEt Framework error as you have yet to reinstall it. So thinking it Paint.NET you go to uninstall it only to find it not in add / remove programs. Which is because you have no registrys. Because there are no registrys, what you got is a boot version of Paint.NET as it was not installed but moved. You should be able to delete it if thats the case and reinstall it with out getting errors do to registry. But 1st you need to install .NET Framework before you reinstall. PS: You only need one ! or ? after a word. Do not take that the wrong way as I am just telling you that as there a rule here on it. -
Not a problem. I do this in my free time just because I like to try and help.
-
look harder. I can't tell you what program it belongs to as I don't know what programs are on your computer. I google arcspl.ax and the 1st link was an error crash due to this file / program which was installed by this software: Palm Desktop. 2nd link in goolge says it was made by ArcSoft Co and is a mpeg engine. So there lots of info on it and it showing up on the front page.
-
You will have to google it. Other then that I can't tell you what program is using it.
-
looks like arcspl.ax is crashing Paint.NET. If this is the case then it not a Paint.NET error. arcspl.ax has been know to crash other apps as well from the looks of my google search.

How to change Start Settings
HITMAN-X- replied to franc's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I think I did a tutorial on that to help someone one day. I never added it to tutorials as it can be found in the help file. Let me find it. Ya here it is. http://www.dextut.com/tutorials/paintdo ... /index.htm -
Do as Myrddin says to see if that works. If not can you give some detail. You say you uninstalled Paint.NET, how did you uninstall it ? Paint.NET has to be uninstalled by the add remove programs in control panel. If you just deleted it then it will still be in registry. you may find this topic of help. PROBLEMS WITH INSTALL UPDATE OR UNINSTALL? READ THIS.

Long pause on every new image/image load
HITMAN-X- replied to WMarsh's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
Graphics cards are relevant details most of the time as a lot of the new cards can support Paint.NET. However there are cases were computers use on board video which eats up memory. A really old card may not be able to support Paint.NET. I have not seen that yet and I am sure a old GeForce 2 can support Paint.NET. It does seem odd that a "modern-ish machine" would have such an old video card in it. Modern video cards today in GeForce series are GeForce 7, 8, and 9. Most people are using 7 and 8 as 9 only just came out. NVIDIA does not even put any drivers lower then GeForce 4 MX on there main download page for drivers. So as I was asking what are your system spec's. Not to be disrespectful but no matter what it going to be asked as it information that is needed for troubleshooting. More detail the better. It will help us rule out problems. -
