  1. That's just by design: selections define clipping areas only. But it's also something we're looking to make a lot better in a future release.
  2. Aha, true enough. THanks Easy to fix, too.
  3. Moved to Paint.NET v3.0 Please keep 3.0 stuff in the 3.0 forum
  4. For me, I did this ... 1. Opened 3 images 2. Changed image 1 and 3 3. Saved image 1 using Save As... 4. File->Exit And then it switched to image 3 and did a normal message box, "Do you want to save ...?" It won't do the intricate dialog unless there are 2+ images that are unsaved.

  6. Yeah there were some forum members doing a bunch of this in the Pictorium for awhile, it was pretty cool.
  7. Actually now that I think of it, I remember seeing something kinda similar in a different program (it used .NET but was not Paint.NET). There was some kind of sync software that came with some mobile device my friend had, or it was some kind of weird backup extension to the shell, and it caused this type of perpetual hang and CPU/disk activity. Maybe you have something similar going on.
  8. Sounds like you have a shell extension of some sort that is doing Very Weird Things. The only thing Paint.NET does after displaying that dialog is 1) open and read the file, 2) write a registry setting so it remembers the folder you used. I've never seen any behavior like this on any of the systems I use or see other people using.
  9. Clicking the link doesn't work ... are you using PaintDotNet.SystemLayer.Shell.OpenURL() in the appropriate Click handler? (it should be in the 2.xx codebase as well as 3.0)
  10. Already a step ahead of you. http://www.getpaint.net/redirect/plugins.html Just link to that.
  11. Yeah, Paint.NET 2.xx only distinguishes based on the UI name of the plugin, not the filename. When you click on "Gradient" it goes and finds the first DLL that calls itself "Gradient," regardless of the filename. 3.0 is smarter about this
  12. One quick idea: On the dialog it says "Plugin coded by ...", but hey why not use a LinkLabel control and give a link to this forum post where users can download it? That also helps so that if someone gives the plugin to a friend, they can find it and get updates easily (and maybe grab other plugins too, in the process).
  13. Tutorials forum is clearly marked as reserved for Tutorial publishing only ... not requests. Moved to General Discussion
  14. Paint.NET 2.xx only distinguishes plugins based on the menu name. 3.0 will be smarter about this.
  15. I don't know, but it doesn't look like a Paint.NET specific problem.
  16. Ten to one says if you install 2.72 that the same thing will happen. Try it
  17. Why are they called Paint.Net? They should say Paint.NET. (note the capitalization)
  18. So then you're saying that thumbnails for .PDN's aren't showing. You might have to restart -- sometimes Explorer is very stingy about unloading shell extensions. If it still persists after restarting, let me know.
  19. Paint.NET doesn't handle the thumbnails for PNG images at all. Or did you mean .PDN images ... ?
  20. Sorry, this won't be happening. And it is not possible with a plugin.
  21. This is not possible with the current plugin system. And yes this has been asked before. Locked
