  1. Why even bother with that when WIC / .NET 3.0 is officially supported and fully maintained? Anyway, don't revive old threads like this. The thread is done. Locked
  2. Anyway this is done, no sense discussing it further. Locked
  3. Allright here's the last e-mail I just sent. Hopefully this ends this little saga.
  4. I wrote 95% of the source code myself. I could have 20 people vouch for it in person who've seen me slave away at it. If it came down to it I could explain the design and purpose of any source code file in the project, and its relationship to other source files. There's no reason to print out source code when you have a CVS server that has recorded every single modification to the source code over the last 2 years. There's also the entire Internet full of blog entries, news articles, and forum posts related to the project. I think that's a little stronger evidence than 1500 pages of printed out source code where he did search-and-replace on my name for his. Let's think about that statement for a moment Who would have licensed it to us? We wrote it! Thanks for your concerns everyone. Trust me though, I'm not concerned about this.
  5. Well, I finally got two replies back from him. #1: Then immediately after, #2: After reading this I saw the website had transformed in to one full of pornography links. Now it appears to be a generic Web1000 page.
  6. I have ideas, but I should not disclose them.
  7. Oh, darn! I guess my stuff wasn't good enough for him. Probably because you and Illnab1024 put your name on the effect config dialog, and that's "too hard" to remove
  8. Toeing the party line of my employer, I must also suggest Windows Live OneCare : http://onecare.live.com -- It has a 90-day free trial.
  9. I'm still not sure what you're referring to either. Perhaps if you posted a second copy of the image, but drew a red rectangle around the area you're concerned about?
  10. Also, feel free to click "Report Abuse" at the top of the website. He's using some free/cheap website hosting, and you can report the page as a copyright infringement.
  11. Picc84, which e-mail address did you contact him at? I used the one on the website labeled "Contact Ghost Creation !"
  12. To anyone who downloaded/installed this: if you find malware, please tell me immediately so that I can inform the appropriate people if necessary.
  13. Here is the e-mail that I sent, Also, it is becoming quite clear that the licensing terms of Paint.NET need to be revised.
  14. Yes, like I said, I am contacting him regarding this. If you have a plugin that was included in this bundling. Just look at the screenshot on the webpage, no need to d/l and install, I recommend that you also e-mail him about this. Please be polite and intelligent.
  15. The license does grant many things but the extent of his use and redistribution is not permitted. He is especially and extremely out of line (both ethically and legally) by bundling the effects that were developed by the forum members here and passing them off as his own. Edit: Added words in underline above, to clarify
  16. Please don't send him flame e-mails, that will just escalate things and not turn into a good situation. It's my job to defend my copyright, so please let me do that. Thanks.
  17. Looks like he might be ripping off everyone's plugins as well, judging from the screenshot. I'm investigating this. In the mean time, feel free to e-mail him your thoughts ...
  18. Yes, donations are working, and thank you for yours I don't think it would be appropriate to disclose numbers however.
  19. So install what it offers you, restart, then run Windows Update again ... it'll pop up eventually after prereqs are satisfied, from what I understand. In any event this is not a Windows support forum, so please keep the discussion here to Paint.NET only.
  20. Not with something like Image->Resize. You can select the contents and resize and move them with no trouble, using the Rectangle Selection and Move Selected Pixels tools.
  21. I want masks too, believe me. But also believe me when I say now is not the time to be working on the layering system. Of course the obvious response question is "why?" Because right now is the time to finish up and stabilize the features that have already been implemented, namely MDI. It's an enormous change to the codebase and it needs time to "cook" before getting the next meal course ready, so to speak. (Unfortunately the cook/chef metaphor only goes so far) Changes to the layering system are itching to go, but require a substantial rewrite of the Layers window UI and several other things in the code base. But once that stuff is done, watch out.
  22. Ok this is just done. Stay on topic in threads please. Locked
  23. Unfortunately then when I add in the real support for things like masks, and then remove the "Transparency Tool," everyone will e-mail or post on the forum asking "where is teh transparency tool gone to "
  24. This is intentional. There was already a post on this somewhere where I explained why.
