You're welcome @NormaBostic. We'd love to see your result when finished. π

All the custom made shapes in the Shapes subforum I would consider a User File, also. You 'use' them from the Tools menu. Effect Presets I would still consider User Files even though you have to click on the specific plugin to use them. I think all these things should be grouped together as I outlined above. That's why I named the category as I did. π

@ReMake Something like this? @toe_head2001, @BoltBait, @Ego Eram Reputo is this possible? It would be a great help in finding those custom-made files. Thank you in advance.

Well, I think one of the Admins need to create a new subforum. I'm only a Comp Host and don't have the ability. I think the new subforum should be under The 'Plugins' forum. Then get a list ready for everything that needs to be moved. So, what say you Admins?? π

Messing with code?? π A mind-boggling experience to say the least (believe me, I know)... Great image. If you carved out some rows and columns, I can see a city-scape in there. π

Ladybug's Gallery ~ Some of my Creations: 12/07/21
lynxster4 replied to Ladybug's topic in The Pictorium
Love the pumpkin and the marbles @Ladybug! π₯° Nice work on the the Fall Front Door and Shiny Swirl has a metallic, iridescent look to it. You certainly were not idle. Welcome back! βΊοΈ -
I'm all for that @ReMake. It would be great to have all the custom files and presets in one place. When I had the Gradient Mapping problem this past weekend, I couldn't readily find your 'Presets for Gradient Mapping' thread. I had to use search. If we have a list of all custom files and presets I'm sure one of us could move the threads into the new subforum.

This is cool @Reptillian! Reminds me of a computer chip board. Thank you. βΊοΈ

paint.net 4.3.1 is now available!

Glad I could help. For anyone else who has this extra folder, you must move your custom presets into it. -
paint.net 4.3.1 is now available!
lynxster4 replied to Rick Brewster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
That's okay @Rick Brewster. At least it still works. Could be just my sys also. Thanks for replying. -
That's a bit crazy. I finally got the installer to run after I gave it permission to share with myself! And the Advanced Menu was still showing it as version 1.7.0.1, but when I opened the plugin as @AndrewDavid suggested, it lists it as v1.7.0.2. So, I guess all is well. It might be the same with the .zip file. I did not open the plugin. π FYI: Just verified that the .zip file contains version 1.7.0.2 also

paint.net 4.3.1 is now available!
lynxster4 replied to Rick Brewster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
FYI @Rick Brewster. I wanted to use Gradient Mapping plugin yesterday with a custom preset color that I moved into the Gradient Mapping folder under Effects Presets in the paint.net User files. When I opened the plugin the custom preset did not show up in the drop-down list. I clicked Manage Presets and it took me to a new folder, where the (3) default presets were also located. See below: Is this intentional to get Gradient Mapping working? The plugin works, don't get me wrong, you just have to copy custom presets to this folder now. Maybe it's just my system, I don't know. I can't tell you when this folder showed up either, as I don't use Gradient Mapping that much. I'm assuming it's after you got it to work in the alpha versions. I did not upgrade till a lot of bugs got fixed...alpha version 7921. All subsequent upgrades installed fine. Thank you! -
Thanks for the tutorial @Pixey ! Very easy to follow. π₯°

Hi @Pendulum128 and welcome to the forum. π When you are using the Export command, you are saving the shape as an .xaml file. You cannot directly save to the Shapes folder because Paint.net is currently open. Where do you save your .dhp files to? I made a folder under 'Documents' labeled 'Saved Shapes'. I save my newly created .dhp files and exported .xaml files to that folder. Then, making sure PDN is closed, I copy the .xaml file into the Shapes folder and re-open the program; then I can select it under the Shapes tool button. You do not open it with PDN; you need to copy it to the Shapes folder. Does this help?? Let us know.
