  1. You posted this in the Tutorials+ section, this is not the place for it as it is not a tutorial. As you're new here I'll move it for you. <Moved to General Discussion & Questions>
  2. EER scares me(being smart(me))

  3. The color format is RGBA - one byte per channel = 32 bits of info. There simply is no way to add a value of more than 255 to the byte range of available Alpha values. 0 is transparent, 255 is opaque. You can't get more transparent than zero (no matter how many zeroes you add), and you can't get more opaque that fully opaque (255).
  4. Buttons Simply record the UI (User Interface) settings to make the button easily repeatable.
  5. Brilliant! Thank you Sarkut. This tut will make things much easier when Newbs ask. BOOKMARKED
  6. @mountnman is quite correct about the thread title you know. As you're new around here I'll edit it for you. For the record, thread titles must be descriptive. That means that we must be able to determine what your thread is about from the title alone. Another forum rule to note: Rule #1. Use SEARCH before you ask. Here's the link to the search tool http://searchpaint.net/ Using that and the terms 'side by side' I found these threads that should answer your query:
  7. The evil side of me wants to add the 'Rule' question to every login
  8. Sounds like you did. Can you post a screenshot of your Effects folder (would be great if the path was also visible)?
  9. Not sure why this is posted in Troubleshooting...., <Moved to GD & Q>
  10. Yes it's free. You are welcome to make a donation for the plugin though. See the 'donate' button in first post above.
  11. Which are you having trouble with? If correctly installed, the text plugins should appear under the Effects > Text Formations submenu. If they don't appear there, or that submenu is not present, try checking for plugin load errors under Utilities > View Plugin Load Errors. Metalize appears under Effects > Photo submenu - but there are more plugins in this pack.
  12. @Goddessraven: This should have been asked in the thread relating to the Custom Brushes plugin: Here (hint hint). @Tarat has given you the answer, but if you have further questions about a plugin, please ask in the plugin thread.
  13. Disagree. That's just not true. We _may_ lock posts that transgress the rules, but we also move, edit & delete them. Perhaps you notice the locked ones more? The severity of the offence and relative experience of the User are taken into account when an action is undertaken. RE: mountnman's example #2. I actually gave the user 5 days to add screenshots then 24 hours as a final warning. How much time does someone need?
  14. Not a likely scenario, but I'll admit the possibility. How's this then? *NEW* someplugin - @Ego Eram Reputo A very cool plugin *NEW* another new plugn - @Ego Eram Reputo Another New Plugin
  15. Personally I tend to reserve sarcasm for the more experienced users. Who should know better and thus deserve a gentle/not-so-gentle ribbing.
  16. I would recommend you add this note and a link to Eraser's tutorial. Also explain that the images are broken. That way no one can accuse you of ripping off the original.
  17. I like the updates to be as automated as possible (= less work). You want me to actually TYPE it?? Will do the list of additions each month as requested. This actually appears to be the simplest system (so far). What if new additions to the Index were boxed between horisontal lines like this: Fake New Plugin - @Ego Eram Reputo A wonderful cool new plugin by EER. Where does he get the inspiration?
  18. While you're reading the rules (descriptive thread titles = Rule #6) - please also make yourself aware of Rule #4. Your keyboard has vowels on it for a reason (hint - use them here and we'll all get on fine ).
  19. For help with installing plugins, read this: BoltBait's Plugin Installation guide You can find plugins by name in the Plugin Index (link in my signature).
  20. Hi Daniel, Good question! No I don't have a brilliant method of denoting new plugins in the Index Sorry, but I will think about it. What I'll do for future versions of the PDF is color code the newly added plugins. As a workaround, you can (almost always) use the topic number as a guide to release date. In this version of the Index, the first plugin added was PdnFF, topic number 20380. Any plugin with a topic number larger than 20380 should be a new addition to the list. This method falls down when a plugin is first released in the Plugin Developers forum, and subsequently moved (screws up the topic number by retaining the first post topic number). Just for you, the new Plugins were: PdnFF Average Edge Blur PS Emboss Liquify Trail (originally missed from the list due to the hiccup mentioned above) Night Vision Thermal Heat Map PSFiltersPDN
  21. We have a class size of 17,910 (Total Members). When that gets out of hand who you gonna call? PDF - good idea, BUT where would we put it? We could post it alongside the rules - which are..., not read..... Post it to their email address - how do we prove they have read it? Video - Probably not an option for anyone with a slow (dial-up) connection. I like: A User Validation question to be directly related to the Rules. So prospective users would have to look them up. Along the lines of: "Which Forum Rule relates to descriptive thread titles?" A competition thread for image interpretations of the rules. The funnier the better (Rule Ogres anyone?).
  22. Happy New Year - have a list of plugins! Eight new plugins listed. I've also updated the Quick lookup list (attached to the first post).
  23. Rules is rules. Some people will always find them boring. Even if they were really interesting - loads of folks still won't bother to read 'em. Of course after a Rule Ogre ™ nibbles on them a bit they get wise
