theguy_62
It is not working for me. I cannot install plugins or use my current plugins. You need to read the threads and then post in Troubleshooting. Well I fixed it I had to change something.
Simon Brown
If you absolutely need Paint.NET to have admin privileges, I suggest you set it to run as administrator rather than disabling UAC entirely.
harold
And why would you suggest that? If you want to disable UAC, do it, because you want to I would write plugins, if I knew what kind of plugins were needed..
Mike Ryan
If you absolutely need Paint.NET to have admin privileges, I suggest you set it to run as administrator rather than disabling UAC entirely. It isnt the fact that it isnt working without UAC, more or less that it turned on UAC without asking me. Not cool, because I had to deal with the troubles explained above. I, as the owner of my pc, will make adjustments as I, not Paint.NET, see fit.
pyrochild
Um... Paint.NET won't turn on UAC. ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it!
Mike Ryan
Well it did. I find it highly unbelievable that UAC turned itself on during the installation of Paint.NET
pyrochild
If UAC was already on, then it could have prompted a, um, prompt. But unless Rick has been severely changing the installer, it did not turn UAC on. Most changed made by MSCONFIG only last for one reboot unless you specifically tell it otherwise, so if you used that to disable UAC in the first place, that change might have been nixed on the next reboot. If you recently installed service pack 1 on Vista, that also could have done it. I don't know if it actually does, but it does seem like something MS would do. ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! Rick Brewster
It isnt the fact that it isnt working without UAC, more or less that it turned on UAC without asking me. Not cool, because I had to deal with the troubles explained above. I, as the owner of my pc, will make adjustments as I, not Paint.NET, see fit. Paint.NET doesn't have any code in it that changes your UAC settings. That's a fact. You're better off turning off the UAC prompts and having it auto-elevate, than you are by turning off UAC entirely. Allowing your web browser to run with administrator privileges is equivalent to you begging to have your computer destroyed by viruses. I'm not exaggerating. Blooper
Dangit! I was hoping this wouldn't come out before all plugins were updated. Guess I have to switch now... The plugins from Madjik, Pyro, Ed Harvey and Pyrochild all work for me in the latest version. Really? I switched back to 3.22, so I didn't really pay attention. Downloading now. http://synthastic.deviantart.com http://soundcloud.com/siderealenterprise Lockerz invites are available, PM me
