Jan3258
Need "feather edge" plug-in - could someone post the link to the "feather edge" plug-in? (where the edge is transparency) Sorry - I looked pretty carefully through eight pages of plug-ins, and must have missed it. (Also it didn't turn up in a search). Curmudgeon
haven't seen a "feather edge" plugin... there's Feather plugin from BoltBait or Fade Edge plugin from KrisVDM
Sozo
Yes, Boltbait's plugin should fill your needs. Try the Paint.NET search in the future.
Ego Eram Reputo
The Plugin Index has it listed under F for Feather. Possum Roadkill
It is also listed under A for Awesome! Yes it is. And also under M for Most Awesome. You might also want to get "Alias", it is very helpful as an addition to Bolt Baits Feather in some cases. These are my most used plugins. EVER! Lance McKnight
I'm sorry to say this, but I think that dpy's antialias assistant is the bomb! It is far better than BoltBait's feather plugin. It is part of dpy's plugin pack. I used it at first and fell in love with it immediately. Quote Officially retired from this forum. Have a nice day. Ego Eram Reputo
It is far better than BoltBait's feather plugin. Would you explain why you feel that statement to be true? (Perhaps with a little more tact, as I'm sure Boltbait will be read this) Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
Lance McKnight
It is my opinion, thought. I find that the edge in feather sometime still retains aliased edge, and I have had to somtime use radial blur to clean the edge up. With dpy's antialias assistant, it cleans up like a snap, and doesn't require much fiddling. Quote Officially retired from this forum. Have a nice day. BoltBait
EER, that's ok. I know my Feather plugin has issues. In fact, I've written a new version of the plugin that I'm testing now. It works way better than the older versions... so far. I'll release soon, and this time I'll publish source code to it--it's waaay cleaner than older versions. Lance McKnight
That's awesome, BoltBait. I don't want you to feel I was putting down your Feather plugin since I know a lot of effort went into it, and can't wait for your next release. Quote Officially retired from this forum. BoltBait
EER, that's ok. I know my Feather plugin has issues. In fact, I've written a new version of the plugin that I'm testing now. It works way better than the older versions... so far. I'll release soon, and this time I'll publish source code to it--it's waaay cleaner than older versions. After extensive testing on the new algorithm (ok, 5 minutes of testing) I must say that it sucks. Worse than the others. So, I still say that my Selection > Feather is the best feather. It even works if your picture is already feathered... unlike my other plugins. My advice: use that.
