Ash
This tutorial is available as a PDF. Click here to view or download it Something very simple and fun. This tut will help you draw seashells. 1. 800x600 Background Layer: Grid maker (100x100, Center on cross) 2. Add new layer, Draw lines like image below. Look closely Yellow dots must be on the same row. Green the same. Red Touch top but not Corner. orange Must not touch edge and Corner. Blue appx. half way between Green and Orange 3. Uncheck or delete Grid background. Below images shows the Relations between all the "sections" Now you see the relations. 4. You can "skin" it like so, or whatever you can think of. ON a new layer. 5. Rect2Pol Plugin @ default. 6. Say the below 5 time very fast: She sells sea shells by the seashore. The shells she sells are surely seashells. So if she sells shells on the seashore, I'm sure she sells seashore shells. Done!! 😎 Have fun Comments, questions & ideas welcome Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]

MadJik
Nice tut!Well done! Thanks I like the look of that shell. Did you do step 6?? If haven't... You are not finished with the tut. I've not often follow every and each step of every and each tutos... I've always followed the idea of the tutos I've tested! The English to French google translation means non sense! MadJik
Ash said: Comments, questions & ideas welcome Ash, your idea is great! But we could be more fine to do this seashellshore! When I saw your lines and the result I first thought two lines should be removed because they are still here at the end and could "corrupt" the drawing... This is your tut with some changes : Something not so simple but still funny. 01. Create a picture as you need: 800x600 02. Add a layer. Reverse the colors! 03. Enlarge the canvas (anchor:left) to make the picture twice large as you need: 1600x600 (for 800x600) ...So you have top layer:empty; background layer:left side=white, right side=black. 04. (Optional) On the top layer, add the guide lines with the Grid maker (100x100, Center on cross) 05. Add a layer. Select PrimaryColor:Blue. On the top layer, draw two lines: ...from (50,550) to (1500,0) ...from (0,200) to (50,550) Â 06. Use the magic wand selection tool to select the top left corner. 07. Add a layer. On the top layer, fill the selection (texture, gradient, etc,...) Â 08. On the background layer, select the black side (right side). On the top layer, copy the selection (Ctrl+C). 09. Invert the selection (Ctrl+I), and crop the image (Ctrl+Shift+X). 10. Add a layer and paste (Ctrl+Shift+V). Merge down the two first layers. Â 11. Delete layers with guide lines (should be from bottom layer 2 & 3) ...go on with Ash tut at step 5: Ash said: 5. Rect2Pol Plugin @ default. Â 6. Say the below 5 time very fast: She sells sea shells by the seashore. The shells she sells are surely seashells. So if she sells shells on the seashore, I'm sure she sells seashore shells. Done!! ? Have fun Comments, questions & ideas welcome Final result: It's a more regular shell.
