Boone Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I know i sound like a complete noob, but i can't get the brushes to appear in the abr viewer. can someone help me out? Quote
Olli Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Well you download brushes from somewhere. They will appear in an ZIP. Then an program opens. you should click 'export' Then you choose the folder of choice. You open ABRviewer. You choose: File -> extract Brush set. you choose your folder and double click on the .Abr file Then you set thumbnail size to 500 ISO 80 and you pick : Export -> Thumbnails to the folder. Paint.NET user files. Lots of work 'hein? Quote wear our signature and earn 50 studiocredits. pm me your username if you want to participate.

GuhhtarrPlayyurr Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 When I download the ABRViewer, it isn't a zip. I can't get it to work. Can someone give me step by step instructions? Quote
KonArtist Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 You probably had the RAR file download, I had that one too and I think I was having the same one you are having, so I just downloaded a different one and it was ZIP. Hope that helps Quote Gamertag 360: xX 8 Balll (Three L's) Free Web Hosting
GuhhtarrPlayyurr Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 It did, but when I try to setup the ABRViewer, it says I need to install a .NET Framework program. Quote
KonArtist Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Here is what I did when I had the same problem that you had: First I download abrViewer_v20.zip Than I opened it and clicked abrViewer.NET_1.01_Setup_en.exe That well you have to go through the progress of setting it up than you are done. GuhhtarrPlayyurr Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Thanx it worked! DeviantArt has some really great brushes but why aren't there many tuts using them? I can only think of the rainbow tut, but that's it. EDIT: I can't seem to change the color of my brush. Do you have to choose the color before making your brush? Or is there another way to do this? Quote
KonArtist Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 You can choose a color of the brush, but here is the way I do it. 1. Make the background color black. 2. Draw the brush anywhere you want with default color(black). 3. Invert the colors. Ctrl + Shift + I 4. Use Color Filter and pick the color you want. There are other ways, but I don't use them. Hope that helped. Quote Gamertag 360: xX 8 Balll (Three L's) Free Web Hosting

eye543 Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Another and less time-taking way to add the brushes to Custom Brush is to open the Paint.NET User Files and open Custom Brushes from there, then cut/copy & paste into that folder from your brushes folder. Quote Amazing. That's what the voices said, too.
morphedkirby Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 Maybe one day this tut will become a legend and become sticky. Quote
