mrt181
I am trying to update and fresh install version 4.1.5 but I always get the below error and the installation does not work. I am running Windows 7. Pixey
Hello @mrt181 and Welcome I'm not really experienced with reading that code, but for starters let me ask you: 1. Which version are you trying to install - Classic or the Store bought? And if Classic, are you trying to download from this site? Requirements for Classic are: Windows 7 SP1 with Platform Update 2. Have you got the very latest Windows Updates? Rick Brewster
Yeah you probably have some over-zealous security program. The line of code where it's crashing is where Paint.NET is asking Windows to give it the path for the Program Files directory. If the Program Files directory doesn't exist, then Windows tries to create it ... and if you don't have the right permission for the containing directory, then "Access Denied" is a logical consequence of that. mrt181
Hi, I have downloaded the classic version from this site, I first tried via the auto-updater, I am local admin on my machine, I have Windows 7 SP1, I see no alert or anything in quarantine in my security program. I never experienced this with previous versions. Cheers Martin
toe_head2001
And if you temporarily disable you security program, does the paint.net installation succeed? Quote My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
