installing plug-ins with an installer on MS Store version

Recommended Posts

I've already rewritten my plugin installer to work with the store version.  I'm working with Microsoft to get it into the Windows Store.

Once I've done it, I will be sharing my code with the other plugin authors so they can do the same thing.

Just be aware, this is going to take a while.  Microsoft isn't known for moving quickly on anything.

To create a Store shortcut, right click on the app in the start menu then Pin to Start. That creates a tile in the Start menu. You can launch the app by clicking the tile, or drag the tile to the taskbar.

Oh and BTW, you can run both versions side-by-side. I use one as a plugin-lite version

The Store version also has fully automatic updates.

I talked about this in my blog post: https://blog.getpaint.net/2017/09/29/paint-net-is-now-available-on-the-windows-store/

Nothing is broken and there IS the normal working way.
