  1. Sometimes, but if i was to replicate this in a weeks time, i would probably use a completely different method
  2. Made use of a couple of brushes, some parts of the Concrete Texture tutorial, blurred colour layers set to overlay. That's just the essentials, just keep tinkering with everything till it looks right. Its less about the method, more about how you tune it to the image you have in your head
  3. PDN isn't officially supported on MAC to my knowledge You could probably find some backstreet (or whatever the cyber equivalent is) method of running it, if you trolled around the net. Apple: Yes, you can. Since Apple’s transition to Intel processors in 2006, Windows applications run beautifully on the Mac—faster than they do on many PCs, in fact. To run Windows applications, you’ll need additional software and a Mac with an Intel processor running Mac OS X v10.4.6 or higher. Every currently shipping Mac qualifies, but older Macs may not. To run Windows applications, do I have to run the Windows operating system? Yes, you do. Basically, there are two ways to run Windows on your Mac: Boot into Windows at startup. This dedicates 100% of the processor power to Windows and Windows applications. You can’t use Mac OS X again until you restart. Use virtualization software, which lets you run Mac OS X and Windows side by side. You can switch between them as easily as you’d switch between Mac applications. But you can’t run Windows without Windows—you’ll need to acquire your own copy of either Windows XP or Windows Vista to use either solution. For the best one, do more of your own research! 4. Was going for a watercolour sort of look with this background
  5. Artwork for D3TOXX We may be hitting up regular work for some small record labels soon!
  6. C4D and PDN are a powerful combination, unfortunately i don't have the power to use such a demanding software. I think we will see good things from you 1ceeb!
  7. Practise makes perfect! Once PDN 4 is out I'm sure there will be a new wave of tutorials and plugins Also if you are curious at how i achieved certain effects, feel free to drop me a message, i may share some resources i made for myself and ill be sure to link you to some useful adaptable tutorials!
  8. As promised, the D3TOXX design. This was made to a very tight deadline so i didn't spend as much time on it as i would have liked
  9. Yeah itl be good for us to gain some physical local business aswell, from there we can expand from just graphic design to other branches, music and promotion, shows etc... D3TOXX has actually just been completed, but we are waiting on payment before we upload it anywhere
  10. Trace it in another layer and use the magic wand tool, that's how i would do it
  11. New artwork for FrancisK up on the page, and will have a piece for D3TOXX up in the weekend!
  12. The BG texture is nice, maybe if you lowered the opacity fo the layer with the zoom blur, or applied it as an overlay. the text (it doesn't look like a font) needs more work. Duplicate the layer and render crystallize and set that on colour burn or something?
  13. There is one other way, but you are much more limited in some respects. Font's are quicker but harder to find. http://www.dafont.com/splatter.font
  14. Clever technique, i may use this in a future work, ill be sure to post it up here
  15. Excellent tutorial, will be using this in future works!
  16. I'm quite the harsh critic, so, yeah, sorry First of all seeing as they are both 'based' on tutorials the skill is merely in following instructions, and adapting them to some extent, no? @Sashwilko - I find the entire image to be kind of out of focus, and i can identify the effect you were going for, but the difference in focus just isn't enough, more layers with finer adjustments to the blur would have been a great improvement. That coupled with better use of colours would have made this an excellent piece. However the perspective and lighting in the image are quite well done, as such i award this work a 2/5, nearly a 3. @Tee - Again, i haven't seen the tutorial you used for this so i have no idea what, if any difference there is to the finished product from the tutorial. But, this is a very good piece, i do think it looks how you intended it to look! The only niggle i have with it is that its very flat, some use of linear gradients and bevel techniques could have given this allot of depth. Apart from that, your colours are great, edges are clean, and the texture and lighting blending is done very well! 4/5! Just a 4. Now before i get 'flamed' for putting down tutorials, i think they are a great resource so long as they aren't blindly followed. Sashwilko 2 Tee 4 Totals - Sashwilko 2 Tee 4
  17. Just keep a spare layer you can use as a selection? It's hard to replicate masking in PDN, but the alternative is easy. Just keep a layer unchecked so you can still grab your selection whenever you need it. Its possible to move this layer down to the bottom of your composition, behind your background if needs be. Im not 100% sure that iv answered your question, but that's how i do it.
  18. Simply put it on a new layer Once you have made your selection click the :AddNewLayer: and then fill with a colour or whatever else you want to put in there Layers are in the window called layers There is a tutorial on layers and im sure the link will be posted up rather quickly by a helpful member
  19. Thanks! It was actually not too difficult to make, one of those pieces that just unfold before your eyes And Helen, funny you should say stickers, we are actually going to be designing and selling stickers next year! Edit: Updated the first post, it's going to stay updated with the newest works now.
  20. Okay everything is working now! A function to highlight and delete multiple plugins at the same time (tick boxes?) would be a nice addition Its works great so far!
  21. This is a very well needed feature, and im sure many other will agree, installing it right now, ill let you know if i come across bugs or have suggestions Fully functional, however ensure to run as administrator
  22. Nice effect, there are probably more elegant ways of doing this but its a good tut for a newbie to learn a few skills. I rendered Outline Selection above the text layer, and keeping the selection, Gaussian Blur, then lowered the opacity. Font is Bebas Neue. A nifty little thing to do in between step 6 - 7, render Jitter on these or similar settings: Fiddle with the opacity of the layer and it looks great! I changed the colour myself, Jitter doesn't do any magic colour shifting, although that has just given me an idea,,, Here i used the Rainbow Twist effect with my first method, followed by Jitter on the same settings. The blurred outline layer is set to Overlay. I think the L looks quite cool. I seem to have got rather carried away there, excellent tutorial Ekstaze!
  23. Possibly a stupid question approaching... Would it be possible for both the developers of this wizardry and the magic of custom brushes to combine the two works into a bundle of PDN / ABR custom brush heaven?
