  1. That would simply be a drop shadow, and some gradient work I would make 2 layers, fill the background in grey, and on the above layer draw and fill the rectangle leaving bout half of the height left in space. Then id duplicate the layer and Use Drop Shadow (use search tool to find it in forums). Then id click the gradient tool and select circluar gradient, then id click the colour icon. Then id click and drag from the center. Thats how id do it
  2. Really like the jumble one, helps w makin textures and i dnt have many ideas or it looks rubbish, but by far the most usefull on is the selective colour pallete, it really helps when im colouring in pages for my manga
  3. Edit your first post i think, anyway by avatar do you mean forum avatar (little pic to the left) or like character avatar?
  4. Yes in fact we can! FIRSTLY - Open up your pic Your gonna need 2 layers. SO on the right hand side youll see the layers window. At the bottom of this window there is a series of icons. You want the THIRD ONE, it is called 'Duplicate Layer' Click that button, and you'll see that there are 2 layers in the layer window. SECONDLY Click on the layer under the first one. Now goto ADJUSTMENTS - BLACK AND WHITE You wont be able to see any visual change right now. THIRDLY This is slightly tricky Click on the TOP LAYER Now Select the GRADIENT TOOL (which is in the menu on the left, called TOOLS) Now look at the area on the TOP BAR, it should have little images of black and white blends. You want to click THIS ONE. Now if you look the the right of that bar, youll see Click , Now it should become Now Click and drag from the point were you want colour to start from and drag until it looks good to you. And there you have it! (if you want to thank me check out my signature on the SUPPORT ME, or you could just check out CHAOS HUNTERS which is also in ma siggy) EDIT: If you want to make more changes or have difference levels of greyscale etc, feel free to post here or PM me.
  5. I reckon colour change tool will work best. Okay lets try this slowly: FIRST - Duplicate your Layer On the right you'll see a window called LAYERS. At the BOTTOM of this window are a series of small icons. You want to click the THIRD ONE - - This will duplicate your layer. SECOND In the TOOLS on the left Find the Colour Picker Tool - - Now RIGHT click on the blue wall. In the bottom left you should have the colour you just clicked on set as Secondary. THIRD Now the magic part, In the tools menu Find the Colour Change Tool - - (Actually Called Recolour) Left click on a colour you like on the colour pallet (big colourful thing on bottom left) Now drag across the wall. If it comes out well well done. If it comes out all grainy and horrible Try making the TOLERANCE (Slider kinda thing on top bar, has percentage on it) Mess about with it till you get your desired colour When you done, GO bak to the layer window and UNTICK your current layer. Now you can do it again with another layer, just duplicate as many times as you wish. There are more elegant solutions and im sure someone will write up a better one. But this will work if you follow steps corretly. PM me if you need more help, or post here.
  6. Emm, some scanners have an option to remove them, but i reckon ur best bet is to try with the magic wand on the outisde of the drawings and/ or use the color change tool to make em white.
  7. I had this problem too, something like 'An Error occured while trying to save the file'. so i tried to salvage wat i had from the pic by copying it, but i gt dat error ^^^
  8. I tried that, but its nt really helped me a lot. I have got a usefull colour scheme nw if i want to restart though. Is there any other way? I am currently gonna try to vectorise the thumbnail i have to see if it helps. Please get back to me on this if theres ANY way of getting my file returned
  9. One more day till end, i reckon some more will be entered tommorow. Just entered mine in, looks close.
  10. Mines A better effort than my last try, and i havent seen anything similar in this comp (yet)
  11. OMG this just happened to me now! And just after reading this i am currently updating to 6.37!!!! Is there a particluar pattern in how this happens? Because i have a big pic with many layers and its happened to that! I am seriously gutted Heres the file, please please please see if you can do anything for it. Even 1 layer would save me a lot of time. You see its for my new Manga me and a friend are making. (link in sig) http://min.us/mviSXc ^link to file
  12. It just depends by how much you want it resizing. Got Image - Resize - Then make sure the aspect ratio thing is turned ON. Type in a larger number in the width/ height box and the other should change.
  13. You could just strectch the image, press the black arrow ton tools and drag down the bottom 'dot'. There are more elaganet ways of doing this, but your new and this is easy.
  14. Maybe contacting the developer of shaped gradient to introduce an update? he/she may do it if you ask nicely. Iv never heard of such a plugin myself, but maybe someone else knows.
  15. Also u can use the gradient tool. Select the Gradient tool and set the white's transparency to 0 in MORE. Then clcik and drag across your image, now u have a multitude of colours. You can also use the color picker tool to choose your favourite.
  16. Nope, but a plugin could be made with more or it 'may' become available in an update. Welcome to PDN forums btw
  17. The gray and white checkered pattern means its transparent, be sure not to save as JPEG as it doesnt support transparency.
  18. Going to Layers and 'Rotate Zoom' Can get you specific angles aswell.
  19. WTH ^ I never knew that! Need to try this out... thanks mountman
  20. Doing it on another layer will require ( i think) to have it white aswell, im sure a layer blend mode will sort that, but there is a 'Make Transparent' tool aswell
