  1. Hi there H1SWarrior. Welcome to the forum. As you are well aware this is the PAINT.NET FORUM. It is not the place to recruit followers/programmers/artists or designers. We have a rule specifically about this Forum Rules - check out #23. In other words - please DO NOT. I've also removed your email address from your post. Publically posting your email address in an open forum is going to give the spammers easy access to you. Instead members of this forum can PM (Private Message) you if they wish to get in touch personally. On a differnet tack - many plugins have been created for Paint.NET for the purpose of distorting images. If you can give us an example of what you're trying to achieve we may be able to point you in the right direction.
  2. Alternative: Adjustments | Curves Set the mode to Luminosity. Drag the right hand end of the diagonal line downwards (use the control nub that is up against the right hand frame). That will lighten the darker colors making the image appear 'bleached'.
  3. I'm a little confused. After you add a new layer with :AddNewLayer: or Layers | Add New Layer you cannot.. A. Move the layer up or down in the layers window? or.... B. Activate another layer?
  4. August Update One new effect this month, and the removal of the plugin pack by @AhmedElyamani as this is not longer available for download. Color > Self-Negation - @Xhin Does the equivalent of taking a selection, adding it to another layer, setting the layer mode to "Negation" and flattening it. Kindle Edition: Click Here
  5. Actually I'd like any new dialog to open at the mouse pointer position when using another key combination of course.
  6. Solved. No it's not. See the last three replies in the Shaped Gradient thread.
  7. Correct. Greg you have the file shapegradient.dll inside the Paint.NET folder. It needs to be in the Paint.NET/Effects/ folder.
  8. Yes you can! To save a palette based on an existing image, try this plugin: Palette from image tool To apply a palette to a current image, try Selective Palette from this pack:
  9. I think it's the same as you're looking at: Your Profile > Edit my Profile (button) > Profile & Settings > General Settings > Photo = Change My Photo (button)
  10. Land mass would imply a higher elevation than the surrounding sea. Therefore it should have a non-uniform/coastline-type edge and some height/lighting differences. Select the Land mass with the magic wand tool. Adjusting the tolerance to get just the land area selected. Run Bevel Selection (BoltBait's plugin pack) on the land mass. Turn the highlighting up a notch or two to make this edge of the coast seem higher. Keep the opposite edge at the same color so it appears the same as the rest of the mass. Run Drop Shadow (Kris VDM's plugin pack) on the land mass layer (you will need to copy it to it's own layer) to create a thin darkening around the opposite edge than you highlighted. What I got in 2 minutes: ....I'm back! I forgot your clouds question. I played with the Effects | Render | Clouds effect (cropping as necessary to the circle of the sphere). Eventually got reasonable results:
  11. Avatar pictures must conform to the stated sizes. Profile pictures are disabled. Which are you dealing with?
  12. First - Welcome to the forum! Second - I've retitled your thread. On this forum we insist on descriptive thread titles - so the forum can be searched more easily. Third - have a look at this: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/16395-sharps-line-sig-tutorial/ Is that what you are after?
  13. Yes it is. Try using the Search function to find specific tutorials http://searchpaint.net/
  14. Hi Lumbrales! Welcome! Without seeing what you're trying to recreate, it sounds like you need a vignette type of effect. There are a couple of plugins that can do this for you, or there is the gradient tool. Flatten your image so that the layers you wish to fade are on one layer then select the gradient tool and set the mode to Radial. While you're hovering about in the Tool Bar, reset the Color/Transparency mode to Transparency. Click in the centre of your image and hold the mouse down. Drag outwards. Howzat?
  15. To be fair to Rick he is very busy and this sort of stuff has LOW priority. Most users would never use it.....
  16. Can you post a screenshot of your Effects folder, showing the path to the folder and the contents (as much as you're able to show)?
  17. No need to diss the Chinese! Let's just presume that it was sub-optimal software
  18. I once suggested that there could be a default layer name textbox in Preferences/Options. If the box was empty PDN would follow the regular naming convention. If you put some text in the textbox, that would become the base for the new layer name (+ number of layers). Couldn't convince Rick
  19. I like the idea of just limiting the time (i.e. I know I can create a dished button in about 10 sec flat). The purpose of this comp would be to lock down your particular technique 100%. Think that the steps used should form part of the entry. Hence the ability to reproduce the creation is a must.
  20. Has been released here: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/19669-shaped-gradient-v15/
  21. I've placed the second ZIP file you posted into the first post for you. This keeps things tidy
  22. Tried checking the option Window | Translucent? It makes the dialog a little bit see-through. Not an earth shattering change - but I find it useful to be able to see a bit of the image through the dialogs.
  23. [shameless self promotion mode - ENGAGED] To track down plugins, have a look in the incredibly helpful Plugin Index
