  1. Yeah - and remember - you don't actually open the .dll - you just move it to your effects folder. (After having unzipped it like MBL said)
  2. Very cool colors in the second pic! Why did you feel a need to twist the text? Where you trying to make it look like it's on the hill? if so - try using the rotate/zoom tool in Paint.NET (Under layer adjustments). You can then flip and rotate it however you want. Anyways -- http://www.dafont.com is a good font site. It has plenty of fonts that pretty much go with anything you're trying to make.
  3. You know, with all this contructive criticism, you'd think you would have improved it by now. I mean, several points were repeated over and over, so I think you should update your sig to meet those standards. Otherwise we're writing just to give you attention. Sorry if my message seems harsh, Nab
  4. Great Gallery - you have a lot of great stuff. Good job overall with everything -- One problem -- when I go to view your photobucket album from the link under sigs, it says I need a password... You should figure out a way to make it public. Awesome job with everything!
  5. Hey - that's actually pretty cool - I like the pixaleted look behind the main text - the colors are cool, and I like how it has a rain/metal texture - good font, too @ Ncfan - I agree with R3VENGE - if you want to add text (not that you have to) use a really crisp sci-fish font. Anything sloppy won't be easy to read because the swirl kinda messes with your eyes if you try to read something elaborate on top of it. Good job on it overall though
  6. To go to the tutorials, simply go to the board index > Paint.NET Discussion > Tutorials There, you will see a bunch of topics, and if you click them, you'll be able to view the diffrent tutorials. If you want a specific plugin, you should use search from the main page. To install it, download and go to C:>Program Files> Paint.NET> Effects and paste the .dll into that folder. It should then show up the next time you use PDN. I hope I answered at least some of your questions.
  7. I like that one! The text effect looks kind of like my gallery banner text - except - did you use clouds on top of a text layer? Anyways - I like that one!
  8. I thought Ash just knew Chinese -- anyways- I'm Italian. You could try a bit of antialiasing for the tatoo man -- it's a plugin - or you could dup the layer, gaussian blur a bit and mess with blend modes. Good coloring job though.
  9. Great job on the shading in the later pics -- and funny ideas too -- very nice
  10. Hehe - my friends and I are always acting nerdy and saying "lulwat" - made me laugh Really cool current sig, BTW - I like it
  11. Wow you sure look like a quick learner. I really like that fire ball - and the iPod - WOW - waaaaaayyyy better than my try  Really great job man! Nab
  12. Ooh, I see. I bet it could be done in PDN - The only thing you'd need to develop would be crazy people drawing skills, and the perspective wouldn't be too hard. I think the hardest part would be the snake... Hmm... Cool though Nab
  13. Sarchasm? How did you make those stars though? That was really what I thought the best part of the pic - they're really good!
  14. Wow Jake - cool new effect - how did you manage to get it to curve?? I can't figure it out! is it all hand done, or did you use things such as Gaussian or some sort of distort? I can't wait until you release some info... Nab
  15. Good job on your sig CommanderSozo - just wondering though - how much of it did you make? I can see that the snake is obviously a stock, but is the rest 100% PDN?
  16. Alright man, you asked for some crazy rating, you got it: 1. The main subject of your sig is a bit blurred (the text) try to make it sharper, as it is the focal point. 2. The lines in the background need something... They should either be blended into the background by lowering the opacity, blurred, or incorporated differentely. 3. I can see what you were going for with the sides - it seems to me you kind of want a tech sig - kinda sci-fi ish. Instead of just having the bars on the sides, I would add some kind of very small border to the top and bottom as well - and remember that it doesn't have to be restricted to a rectangle - the side bars can weave around or be smoothed off at the top and bottom corners. That's about it right now, I'll try to think of something else later. Remember not to take anything i said offensively, or as an insult. I'm just trying to show you how your sig could be improved, in my opinion. Nab
  17. Heh - yeah I know it's sloppy, I was just experimenting. Thanks for the advice on the cake -- I was really lost on what to do with it. I'll make a much neater version (with still sloppy text, of course) when I get some more time. Thanks for the response guys!
  18. Yeah, I was thinking of doing that. But then i decided to use the logo as a plane, you know - to show that the text was T perpective. I thoight that if I made it 3d, then it wouldn't looks like it was at an angle as much. I dunno, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the comment! Nab
  19. You did a good job on the pic - you cut out the main subject pretty decently - there are a few spots where you missed it, but other than that I think you did well. Good first pic, I hope you keep dishing sweet stuff out, Nab P.S. Welcome to the Forums
  20. "I have 500+ hits and not many comments" i know... how you feel... Great job on the new wallpapers! My fave is the first one because I can see it has a lot of potential (cloth, curtains, any fabrics) They both look really good, I just wish they were a bit bigger -- great job otherwise! Nab
  21. Really great job on that planet man! You textured it very well, and did a good job on the atmosphere. The only thing that's kinda bugging me is the group of stars on the front of the planet... Is it due to the layer blend mode? Or did you purposely put them there? I dunno, they just don't seem to fit very well. Other than that you did an amazing job -- really well done! Nab
  22. Woow! That is really, really good! You did an amazing job on the stars in the background, you blended the colors in perfectly, and, I like the font Awesome job man! (And good luck with your Senior Project) I'm so glad I'm just a freshmen!
  23. Sorry Sabrown, I meant the user that posted just before Ash. I'd commented on Ash's sig already, so I assumed he knew who I was talking to.
  24. Yes! Much better! I think it looks much like the real deal now -- good job!
