I found Paint.NET 'cause I was looking for a legal alternative to my cracked copy of Photoshop. Naughty, I know. And of course the words "C#" and "Open source" really caught my eye on the wiki page for this.

When I first used PdN, I didn't see a purpose to the entire program. I thought to myself, but I already have photoimpact (similar to photoshop), why do I need this?. I was, obviously, quite mistaken. PI hasn't even been reinstalled since I rebuilt this computer.

plugins can be written in any .NET language, and it should be fairly easy to convert the plugin template to VB. Hell, you could make the plugin in J# if you wanted to, although I would be forced to question your sanity if you did so.

Yes, I was just confused by his use of the term CPU, as that's the processor. Unless the processor is severely on the fritz, it's not what's causing the problem. If the CPU really was in that bad of shape, odds are Windows would not be running =) More likely virus software, as you said, or his ISP not allowing the download.

also, i recommend keeping the font files that you use less than regularly in a folder other than the system fonts folder, as having too many there, especially complex ones, like a lot of the ones you see at places like dafont.com and 1001freefonts.com, can cause lag even on the best of computers.

Technically, not a typo (typo = typographical error = you hit the wrong key(s)), but it's still wrong. Board = long flat piece of something, usually wood, or something on which a game is played, etc. You are thinking of "bored" so no it's not a typo, it's just a confusion of homophones. Windows + R is just a shortcut to Run. No need to be redundant.

Also, radial blur only blurs from the center so you will be able to create a much better look by moving the lightsaber to a position more like that in usedHONDA's example, do the blur, then move it back to where you want it.
