  1. You know, I would sticky that, but its not a tutorial... its a LINK to a tutorial.
  2. Remember, not all tutorials need to be complicated or advanced. No0b's need love too.
  3. You might want to follow that up with a Adjustment > Brightness/Contrast Set the contrast all the way up and adjust the brightness for desired effect. Also, if you're looking at a softer conversion, try on of Ed's dithering effects: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=4367
  4. Apparently, 7 pages worth of people want to make toy cars... But, thank you. This is the first post in the thread with concrete suggestions on threads to sticky and unsticky. Anyone else have suggestions?
  5. In the future, post this type of thing in the Pictorium... Pictorium: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1072 Feel free to read the rules here: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=3446 espically rules 3, 4 and 15.
  6. MadJik, in order to really stress the rendering system, be sure to have a really complicated selection. For example, use the magic wand on a photograph, or use the freeform selection tool to draw lots of crazy lines. A big canvas is a good test, but a big canvas with a complicated selection is 100 times better.
  7. I do that very thing in my Standard Shapes/Stars project... look in that source code. Off the top of my head I think it's simply a call to Update();
  8. pyrochild, if you open a new graphic in a new folder, is the old folder released?
  9. Please read the rules: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=3446 Espically rule #1 and #4
  10. Paint.NET supports 2 billion+ colors and GIF files only support 256 colors. When you save a PDN file as GIF there must be some compromise--either reduce the colors in a paint-like effect (as you said) or through dithering. Paint.NET allows you to control that compromise. Obviously, when saving, you should adjust the settings for how you want the image to look. That is, to whatever pleases your eye and fits your application of the image best. Hope this helps.
  11. Personally, I don't think tattoos look good on women... and they usually don't look good on guys either. (Actually, yes, I do have a tattoo. ) MadJik, I like your second one. (The one in the middle.)
  12. Read this page: http://boltbait.googlepages.com/install
  13. 1st, this forum is for publishing plugins only. I'm moving this to the General Questions forum. 2nd, which plugin did you download, where did you put the DLL file, and did you "unblock" it?
  14. Playing with Ink Sketch (x10), Soften Portrait (x1), and Alpha Gradient (x4).
  15. Install this plugin: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=4367 It has several options for halftone effects.
  16. Open the image in Paint.NET File > Save As... Choose BMP from the drop-down box below the file name box. That's it.
  17. Same issue as this guy? http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=4881 He was able to solve it. Hope this helps.
  18. Please post a screen shot of the problem. Thanks!
  19. One way to do it is this: Effects > Black and White Effects > Color Balance (adjust sliders for desired color) Links to the Color Balance plugin is in my sig:
  20. Use the Ink Sketch effect and slide the "color" slider all the way to the left. Adjust the "outline" slider for desired effect. Link to the Ink Sketch plugin is in my sig:
  21. Toon or Ink Sketch are about as close as you're going to get at this point.
  22. Did you "unblock" the DLL? Did you know that the effects (3 of them) show up in a submenu under Effects > Steganography > ...
