  1. Before all possible second tips: just work precise! You see in the upper right corner of any active textfield a "nub" for moving with a arrow-cross. Use it. If neccessary, use "Rectangle select" to select the room around the Letter, switch to "Move selected pixels" and use the arrow keys on keyboard to move the letter. Therefore it's way better, when you put all letters in a second layer and not on the original grid.
  2. Rightclick on the file in Filemanager/Explorer and change in the file properties the attribute by removing the checkmark "Read only".
  3. Because Paint.NET doesn't have any "automatic image saving", I can only see two cases: You work with some kind of key (or mouse)-mapping software (often on laptops) as a background process. You don't work with paint.net but with another image editing software.
  4. Well ... I've downloaded the zip with installer from first post here and that is, what I see:
  5. I can't find the Mouse Shape. Any cat around?
  6. Of course! It's an two-dimensional image and not a real three-dimensional object
  7. Yeah ... and in both screenshots you can see that the image has the exact same size of 605 x 120 pixels. The "Document Size" is an completely different thing and you have to choose the right conditions for your purpose. BTW is the dpi in the 1st screenshot 96 and in the 2nd 72 so it is no wonder that the dimensions are different.
  8. I've tried to reproduce that. But all works fine for me. So be sure, that you really save this image with this dimensions. Switch the measurement between pixel/cm and pixel/in and between cm and inch. An image with 17 x 17 cm and 72 dpi means for me 1224 x 1224 px and 122,88 pixel/in. Maybe you have only changed the print size and not the image size.
  9. Of course. And maybe you learn something about changing privileges for special folders to avoid such errors in the future.
  10. Put it in your Paint.net-Folder in the subfolder Effects, restart Paint.net if it is running and search the Effect-entry in Effects -> Artistic -> Stencil
  11. Hi, i just read, that there is a vulnerability in OpenJPEG that allows execution of malware-code by manipulated JPEG2000 files. http://www.talosintelligence.com/reports/TALOS-2016-0193/ Now I want to know, wether this plugin is affected or not.
  12. Change he canvas size to 6X8" and copy the second image below the first one. Save the image. Have fun.
  13. Simply renaming the file extension is WRONG. Read again Ego Eram Reputos answer. BTW: What file conversion program? Why?
  14. Without knowing the "background" it's a little bit hard to find the best solution.
  15. You can rotate any layer, the entire image or a single object in any angle you want. See Layers -> Rotate/Zoom ... or use a plugin for rotation other than 90/180° like RotateZoom+ or Rotation Bilinear. And by the way ... 360° is 180° x 2
  16. You have tried drawing a new line outside the selection. You have to delete the selection before drawing something new or you must draw inside the actual selection.
  17. Nope. The line-tool snaps in every 15 degrees.
  18. I do not understand why you do not use the conventional rectangle tool. The dimensions of the current size appear in the status bar of Paint.net and you can fine-tune it by pulling the nubs until they comply with your wishes. Is that all too much effort?
  19. Here it is: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/6532-gradient-blur-ymd100710/
  20. Then maybe my Addon "Better privacy" is the reason ... I will see...
  21. Nope. There's only one machine and no incognito window. My favorite browser is SeaMonkey. I haven't tested it on Firefox but I will do it now and will see the result tomorrow.
  22. Is there a chance that the forum software remembers which categories I have hidden? Previously this was the case, if I remember correctly. Now I have to toggle manually that categories every day in spite of allowed cookies.
  23. Here is a sample from me. Because "Shadow" produces a very blurry shadow without good edges, I used another way. After duplicating the cutted person and filled with gray I first used "Oblique", then "Perspective", "TR's Distort this" and last "Gradient Blur".
