  1. xod: Is that plugin included in the newest Paint.NET version by default? I'm still using the old 3.5 version... Anyway, I found the plugin in the KrisVDM's Plugin Pack. And now it works! Thank you so much!
  2. Thank you for your tip, IRON67. I overdid the second picture to better illustrate the issue. I forgot to mention that I know how to position the letters by hand. But if you need it to be pixel-precise, not just "roughly okay", it will become a challenge, especially with horizontal positioning of asymmetrical letters like P, J etc. I should've put the word pixelwise in the title. One "workaround" came to my mind - to use some software that has the capability of positioning text in area (LaTeX, MS Word, ...), then to make a screenshot of each letter, crop it to a desirable size and so work in Paint.NET with small square icons instead of using the Text tool. But still some solution without using external programs would be much more convenient.
  3. I am a Paint.NET beginner. I have encountered this problem several times but I still don't know the best way of doing it. I'm not even sure if Paint.NET is a tool suitable enough for such task. Let's have this image of sudoku. How to fill it with single letters so that the result doesn't look childish like on the second picture? How to fill it so that all the letters are on the same position? Is there something like "select the area and insert letter in the middle of it"? Or any other workaround?? Thank you for any advice...
  4. Wow, that Camaro tutorial looks great, thank you! I thought I know the Gradient tool, but now I see that there is still a lot to explore in that tool.. I haven't tried to use it on pictures or with transparency mode yet. How it comes that mostly every "unsolvable" problem I have turns out to be some basic stuff in a while.. Thanks. PS.: I've spent some hour by training and.. Look at that river / sea picture now! Still a lot to improve, but looks a bit better, doesn't it?
  5. First of all, my english is bad, so I'm not even sure, if it's called "merging" or you would name it other way. I'd like to get this basic effect: (click for larger view) The effect, when the picture is so smoothly changing into the blue color. I guess, that this is probably made of two layers, one with the picture and the second one with blue-and-white background, plus used some Multiply on it, but the main point is still, how to change (now the white color) smoothly into the blue one. Edit: Huh, now I reminded of some Gradient tool I tried a few times to use and that solves the previous problem pretty much. But it can be used just to merge two colors. I would rather find some technique or tool, which could be used to merge two pictures - I mean, when I have for example two pictures lying nearby without any change, then I'd like to make the edge, which they touch each other by, smooth. This is one I made some years ago: (click for larger view) I stressed the edge line between the two pictures here in preview. I was doing this picture just for fun (I hope you see, that in the lower part there is a sea, but in the upper part there is a river ). I tried several color and brightness enhancements to make them similar, but the edge between those two pictures is still easily recognizable.. I hope you roughly understand, what I'm looking for. Thank you for any advice.
  6. Well, that's really tricky way how to do it.. Still funny though, but I like that idea.
  7. Wow, that looks like a musthave. I've seen some really interesting tools there in description.. I'm gonna try that. Thank you
  8. Huh, it's from some plugin. My Effects --> Render looks like this:
  9. Hello As one of my basic steps through the Paint.NET I decided to draw some polygons or simply, to draw the triangle. Of course there is a way how to draw it - I mean, I can use the basic Line / Curve tool, do roughly three lines and be happy. But is there any way or any plugin for simple polygon drawing? I was trying to figure it out "pluginless", also searching here for some plugins in plugin section, but just can't draw such an easy thing.. How do you draw a triangle?? Thx for help
  10. That sounds really helpful! Thanks a lot, I'm gonna try that..
  11. Huh, maybe I do something wrong, but it seems that I can't work with the actual rectangle - the Move Selected Pixels tool works always with the whole workspace.. Here are my screens of my (800:600) workplace: (I wrote the text and then too small rectangle and I would like to repair that)
  12. Yep, the topic about the rectangle! I found the Paint.NET program as really useful tool, but I started with that just a couple of days ago, so please excuse, that I'm gonna have some newbie questions.. When I use the Rectangle Select tool, I can place the rectangle selection very roughly, because then I can switch to the Move Selection tool and repair the created selection to the desired position and size, in the pixel level = very precisely. But what if I want to draw a simple rectangle? When I use the Rectangle tool, I can't see any chance of further editing of my created object similar to the options described above, can't find something like "Rectangle properties" to set the size or position in pixels.. It may seem as a small problem, but how many of you were in the situation "Oh gosh, I made it two pixels bigger!" Thanks for any advice.
