Second problem: Contrast, sharpness and Luminosity should fit better to the underlying image. Your face is a little bit lighter than Dalí. Instead of using plugins you can use the eraser with minimum hardness (0%) to make a soft transition manually. Important. Always use a new (transparent) layer to put in your face.

If your text is on a single, transparent layer, you can change color like for every other part of an image. To edit text, you have to delete the old one and replace it with new text.

There's so many color manipulation plugins and nowbody here knows, which of them you have installed und used. And without the images it will be a little bit difficult to give concrete tips.

@causticlasagne First: Digging out a nearly six year old thread isn't nice. Why not asking new and put some important information in, for example what kind of "background" is around the watermark? There's no perfect fitting plugin or recipe because all images are different. In most cases I have used the clone stamp with 0% hardness and often with blending mode 'darken' or 'lighten' instead of normal.

In exactly this kind by choosing Plugin XY: no way as far as I know. You can try some plugins in combination to reach a similar effect, like some Mosaic Plugins, Gossamer, Edge detection or outline effects.

It seems for me that you use the tool in a way that is not really intended to use. Sure, you can let disappear text like copyright and so on but you have to take care, where the source part of the clone tool moves. If there is no or the wrong color, it doesn't work as you expect. In other image editing programs exists clone tools, where you can set a stationary clone source that is not moving.
