Thank you for the reply and the welcome, unfortunately I already have .NET Framework 4.8 installed and when I run the installer again it says: .NET Framework 4.8 or a later update is already installed on this computer. I do however also have older versions on my pc, should I remove those? I needed them at one point to run an older program

Unchecky is program that stops bundleware. If it there bundleprograms longer prechecked when installings programs. Most people doing installs too fast, not reading nothing and click click click! Hurry up! Then they getting all kinds of things they not even see put there.

With Unchecky If other programs there it give window sayings so. Now people seeing what there.

Many people using it and not having this problem.

I meant that i had an older version of .NET installed but I tried using the tool anyway and then reinstalling but it did not help

Indeed Unchecky should just make sure that no additional optional software is accidentally installed by simply 'unchecking' any pre-checked opt in boxes. It is or at least, should only be doing anything during install of a particular program. I've never heard of it interfering with a program already installed.

My question would be how are you rotating or moving the images which are causing the crashing? Using the PDN toolbar or keyboard?

This is a long shot, likely not going to be the solution and only applies if you are using the keyboard: check what graphics or graphics card hotkeys (if any) are in use. I've not had any problem with PDN or any other graphics program for that matter but I have had other software, principally games, which crash because the controls used were the same as the hotkey eg. Ctrl+Alt+Directional key often used to rotate the screen.

I'd no idea this could happen and spent days searching and asking for advice before someone suggested the hotkeys were the problem.

There could be an easy way to check this: on the desktop right mouse click and choose Graphics Properties > Hot Keys and use Enable/Disable.

If the option is not in your desktop context menu you may need to go the graphics card's options settings directly and find the equivalent thing there.

Even if you disable it, it could still be injecting itself and running some of its code (and causing the error). If it's possible to completely exit the program, do so and try again (and paste the crash log if the crash happens again). If it can't be exited, try uninstalling it. Yes, this is necessary for debugging this issue.

From looking at your crash log and where it's pointing to in my code, my best guess is that there is memory corruption. The code is throwing an error in a location that should be impossible to reach, and the only what that should be possible is if memory is being incorrectly overwritten.

I've just been reading up about uninstalling Unchecky and it actually warns on one web site that there will be bits left over from Unchecky if you use the basic uninstall option. One of those is said to be that same inject_x64.dll.

Assuming total uninstall is definitely confirmed as necessary then the solution is to use a purpose designed uninstaller like Revo or BCUninstaller. Revo is more user friendly; just use the advanced cleanup option after it has run the basic uninstall. But do check carefully what it is removing.

99% of the time it can be relied on but in certain circumstance it may include unrelated files. Same applies to any other 'thorough' uninstaller. Revo puts in a restore point prior to doing anything so there is always that safety net if you/it makes a mistake.

Paint.net is installed on the C drive, I'm using the mouse to turn the image, by going to the bottom right of the canvas each time and rotating it that way. I've uninstalled Unchecky, removed all traces using Revo and restarted my computer but I still have the same problem. I'll post a more recent crash log. Not sure if it helps or not but I'm not actually using an image by the way, just the blank canvas you get when you start the program, I do ctrl A and then rotate.

I would check next to see if you have any software that came with your mouse or keyboard. Sometimes they do weird things with input handling.

I am not an expert when it comes to computers, but I notice that your plugins are on your D drive, which maybe not okay? Someone on here will know the answer to that. Perhaps try putting the Plugins on your C drive to see if it makes any difference

The first crash log indicates that there was some type of system update on the same day of the crash.
I would check to see if something in Windows has been corrupted.
It should not hurt to run the Command Prompt as an Administrator and type 'sfc /scannow' and press 'ENTER' to see if something has broken:

I do have software with my mouse (logitech G502) so I removed the program and tried with another "dumb" mouse and it crashes even faster now, I don't even have the time to try to rotate before it crashes. If I retry with the old mouse (but no logitech software) it crashes during the rotation.

I really don't know what could be causing this, it just suddenly started crashing one day and I don't remember installing any programs around that time

Actually, that particular crash may be fixable by disabling "Fluid mouse input" in the Settings.

However, that crash is also VERY IMPOSSIBLE to achieve unless you have some other software affecting things in a really hacky, potentially rootkitty way. This is definitely NOT a bug in Paint.NET, you have something else really spooky on your system 😨

Well that is very worrisome, no idea how something like that would have found its way on my pc.

I tried turning off Fluid mouse input and also hardware acceleration and starting my pc in safe mode (not that safemode would help with a rootkit I suppose?) without the special mouse and it crashed just like it always does. However when I restarted (still with the old mouse but not in safe mode) I was able to turn the canvas almost two rotations before it finally crashed. Later tests still had it crash instantly however.

Now if it is indeed not a bug in paint.net then I suppose there is nothing more we can do, I can't really do a fresh install of windows just for paint.net and I don't know how I'd find whichever program is messing with paint.net, especially since it also crashed in safe mode. If anyone has any ideas I'm still open to try them

Well you could always try installing the 4.2.6 alpha but that's just a shot in the dark, https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/115459-paintnet-426-alpha-build-7250/

Also, just because your "special mouse" isn't plugged in doesn't mean it's software isn't still active. You'd need to completely uninstall that too. (if you haven't already)

I did remove the Logitech Gaming Software program but the mouse has hotkeys that it saves in the mouse itself so that it can function without the program on other pc's so to be safe I unplugged it too. I just tried the alpha but unfortunately it did not help. I'm not sure if it is helpful or not to keep posting my crashlogs? Thank you for all the troubleshooting

Immediate crash when rotating an image or moving it, persistant even after several uninstalls.
