How do I know which plugins I can remove

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new year and have a question:

I was over enthusiastic and downloaded AND installed Effects-MegaloPack.Paint.NET.v25 and Paint.NET.MegaloFileTypesPack.v18.

I was warned beforehand but ignored it :( that it might slow down Paint.Net starting up

What is the best way to remove those I do not want?

I can see the folder and remove them manually but there are several default effects and filetypes I want to keep.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hans

Delete everything in Paint.NET/Effects.  Everything.  Then redownload any plugins you need from this site.  The Paint.NET forum is the ONLY safe source for plugins.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

^ quite correct. Delete them ALL then scan your system thoroughly for viruses.

Paint.net's built in effects are not provided as separate files so you cannot erase them. They are part of the application.

Good luck with the virus scan!

Oh dear, never ignore good advice, remember to do a deep scan of all your system and do as advised on here, only download packs from this website only.
