I know.... I'm pretty late to the "PdN Plugin Party" 🤣 However I'm hoping you can entertain my brain for a minute or two:

As it stands currently, I seem to have an easier time running/using PdN than any other image editor out there, so I'm trying to gather what plugins I can that I know I've used in Gimp previously.  Brushes are my current mission!  I'm primarily looking for a "grunge" brush or something similar, as well as other similar-looking effects. My project workload includes creating new textures for things like: tattoos on an NPC/Character, wood & metal furnishings as well as hardware pieces (for a door or something similar), etc. I know that stamps/clones and brushes are going to be my primary tools since I've been using mostly brushes (stamp only a couple of times throughout) I'm beyond capable of coping with the extreme limitations that come with PdN as a standard. I know this will make my "ease of use" a little less "at ease" but it's necessary.  So... my question(s):

1- Is there a grunge or similar brush with your Factory 🙂

2- (if) my short story managed to bring to mind any additional/juicy ideas to [your] mind regarding brushes that I should look at especially... then I'm starving for any tidbits that'll get tossed my way! lol! It all will help make things easier/quicker as I continue my endless search for plugins...

The Brush Factory support Photoshop brushes file (*.abr) and you can download a bunch of brushes for free from Brusheezy.com.  That website has plenty of grunge brushes for you to explore.

I have looked everywhere for a plugin on Paint.NET that allows me to use a background eraser tool like the one in Photoshop and have had no luck at all. This seems like something that would already exist and be extremely popular but, apparently I thought wrong. I would highly appreciate if anybody that knows how to do this kind of thing could do it. This would really save me time in the long run of things.

If you are talking about Photoshop's Quick Select tool, PDN doesn't have it.  However, I do have a video tutorial of how you could get around PDN's limitation.

  4. One thing I may have discovered by accident was how the opacity of the color appears to affect how much the eraser remove pixels from the image.  When I was working on my Country House, I had left the color black at 25, and noticed the eraser took a long time to remove pixels.  Then when I ramped it up to 255, the pixels were rapidly removed from the images.  Had this been part of the eraser's ability?

  5. I think I figured out why the "closed" hand remain stuck as closed.  While keeping the MMB depressed and scrolling up or down, the "closed" hand remain stuck.  I have included the video that demonstrates this behavior.  I have only noticed it by happenstance in 4.2.8.  I cannot recall if this was an issue prior to current version.

  6. @Rick Brewster, I have noticed lately how when using the MMB (Middle Mouse Button) to pan when zoomed in, after a while, the closed hand becomes "stuck" in closed hand even when switching tools, it stays stuck.  By accident, I found that if I press the ESC key, it release the closed hand.  I don't think it is related to what Pixey or the bug that was reported associated with the space bar.  I just thought I would share what I have experienced.

You can also see if this toolbar setting does anything for your needs:

Rick, this is a bit of an aside topic from the OP question, but for the drop down list of font size, would it be possible to replace the drop down list with slider?  The slider can start at default font size of 10 and then user can adjust the size with the slider.

Before anyone says "that never happens..." I recall a user having trouble with the Shape3D, because S3D places the effect dialog on the second monitor (if there is one). If you turn your second monitor off - poof! No dialog! Yet PDN appears to be running fine on the first monitor.

This happened to me when I was having trouble with the Brush Factory not opening in the extended monitor window on my end, and when I reported it, I remember you trying to help me get that fixed.  Once Joshua released another version, that problem disappeared.

t didn't say, "Please tell us why you think everyone should use PN the way you use it." If you wish, I'll be glad to start a different forum topic where people can tell everyone why they think other people should be just like them.

I was going to post my own thoughts anyway.  I was planning to add a line where this would be up to the plug-in programmers to add those options, and they probably don't want to go through that trouble.  It is not easy to add a few lines of code just to make you happy and BoltBait confirmed it.  As I stated earlier, it is just easier to click and drag the window of the Effect, Adjustment, or plug-in windows to tweak with the setting.  It is second nature and I don't think about it at all.  If that bothers you, then...¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
