  1. I downloaded and tested the update before posting to this forum and I did not have any problems??? Please submit error report text!
  2. I use the Hexagonial Grid v1.2.0.0 plugin of 2010 by MadJik (Jean-Claude JAY). I have not experienced any problems! Update:
  3. It appears that the 'Hardy Pack' is a collection of pirated plugins from ~2006 by someone with the alias of “Michael J. Hardy”. Rick has a beef with him from about that time. I can't find an active link to the plugin collection.
  4. @Ego Eram Reputo I will agree with that! I will offer Caliandris this to consider and will be done here: I have a camera that produces a 20 megapixel image. I can have my printing software produce a wallet size print or a tabloid size print from the same image data. I do not have to reduce the number of pixels in my image file to produce that result, I just have to print to the desired form factor!
  5. Okay then, let's make it clear together! ISO-A5 is a dimension and not a resolution. That dimension can be filled with a low or high resolution image, or even a single color. If resolution is the priority then reducing pixel count is a bad idea. Best advice is to set the dimension of ISO-A5 (5.8 x 8.3 inches), lock in this aspect ratio, and create a canvas large enough to produce an image that has the resolution needed to produce a good print in that form factor. If it means having a file size of 3480 x 4980 pixels, that is okay because it will still print to ISO-A5 with a good printing app!
  6. Even shorter: If you divide an inch into 96 parts or if you divided it into 600 parts, it is still an inch!
  7. An ISO A5 document has a form factor of 148 x 210 mm or 5.8 x 8.3 in Set your Canvas to 5.8 x 8.3 inches and use the default resolution setting Your document will print at the correct form factor if you do not change it when you use a quality printing utility. You can test this empirically by creating an image in the ISO-A5 format and print it using the PrintIt.Effect v0.9 plugin. (The Windows 10 Print Pictures utility is not professional quality and it is not accurate!) Get a ruler and measure the image on the page after using the Print It plugin. https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/28520-print-it-tools-effect/ Make sure that in the Print It layout option; the setting of the Image Size is set to [Use 'Print Size' of image] Whether you choice 300 DPI or 600 DPI here will not change the image dimensions (At least not on a color laser printer, which is what I use). DPI (Dots Per Inch) is print resolution and not print dimension! (Just as placing grain of salt under a microscope, does not alter the dimensions of the salt grain). Also remember that monitors and image sensors use pixels and printers use dots or drops of ink (DPI), they are not the same!
  8. I put all of my overlapping rectangles on a single layer, but if you use BaitBolt's advice you can use a variety of layers and this will allow you to re-stack the rectangle layers to get the overlapping that is most pleasing before merging down. Save your work to a PND first so that you may rearrange layers if you change your mind about the composition.
  9. I would start by creating a Canvas with the dimensions of your desired end result and fill the space with a chroma-key type green. Create a new layer that is transparent. Disable anti-aliasing Select Black for primary color and White for your secondary color Select the appropriate Brush width for the outline of your assorted Rectangles Select Draw Fill Shape With Outline and draw your assorted overlapped rectangles Merge top and bottom layers Make White transparent Globally Import your cartoon layer and move under your rectangle layer and merge Make the chroma-key green color transparent Globally Done!
  10. I found a comparable full color image online on which I used my two favorite plugins to achieve the effect that you see below. The plugins are located at the links that I provided above and are the Drop Shadow and the Manual Color plugins. ( The Drop Shadow plugin enables the color selection, the amount of blur, the strength and direction of the outline. The Manual Color plugin enables the selection of the monochromatic tint color of the photo or object.)
  11. Next time try saving to a PDN file first. That way you will have a file with all layers backed up. If that works you can then save as PNGs. I 'always' save to PDN first. Next I save to TIFF. I save to JPEG and PNG only for Internet sharing and web stuff.
  12. After cutting out your image you can tint it with these: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/22977-manual-color-correction/ My favorite is a plugin inside the Zip archive of the following link called 'PdnManualColorFilter.dll' that will enable you to tint the image file. (The link is not correctly working at the moment, but if you select and download it, you can add '.zip' to the filename code that downloads and extract the plugins until the link is repaired) https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/18112-color-inpainting-v10/ The are a few plugins that enable you to outline image objects. Here are links to a few that I like. Drop Shadow is my favorite and is a part of this collection: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/8375-drop-shadow-and-other-effects-krisvdms-plugin-pack-updated-2010-10-26/ Outline Selection is plugin from this package: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/113220-boltbaits-plugin-pack-for-pdn-v41-and-beyond-updated-december-1-2018/
  13. @lynxster4 We can have a Boogie Fever or a Disco Inferno; either way 'Good Work, Lynxster!' 🙂
  14. @butterfly8000 Also check to see if the default printer setting has not been accidentally set to print to an 'Adobe PDF'
  15. You can also do digitally what illustrators have done for decades, which is to create a 'morgue file or archive' of hand clipart freeware that can be located via a Google image search. This can also be done for other body parts, such as eyes, lips, ears, heads, and limbs.
  16. Producing a scaled up (larger) image than you need for output is a great idea, but BPI and pixels are are not the same, as they are used to serve very different viewing mediums. The confusion arises because image editing apps are designed to produce images that will be used for viewing on screens as well as printed to papers and films. One media uses pixels & sub pixels while the other uses drops of inks on a surface. One uses RGB while the other uses CMYK. It gets confusing but the differences are real. Many of my digital projects start at ~25 Megapixels. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dots_per_inch @AnnieBeau Good Luck with your project.
  17. Thank you for that nfo! I was able to download the profile at this link: https://github.com/ellelstone/elles_icc_profiles/blob/master/profiles/sRGB-elle-V2-srgbtrc.icc This will be helpful when attempting to convert to CMYK
  18. Stacking the deck: (Your printing service tech my not know the difference) Where I live I have my printing done at Fast Signs and the tech at my location is brilliant. All of my work is saved at the default resolution!
  19. More grist for the mill. Set your dimensions to 9 inches x 3 inches and you leave the resolution at the default (96) and here is why:
  20. I did insert a link to the full resolution image that is stored on my web hosting service and the rescaled thumbnail image that you see in this thread is a result of that.
  21. Greetings, I am curious to know why you are polling the forum about members abilities to reproduce video game logo that you already possess?
