Cool.

I don't know if it will help, but the pyrochild.effects.common.dll isn't needed any more, so it can be deleted. Delete that and restart Paint.NET, see if it makes a difference.
-
Current plugin is compatible with current Paint.NET. Did you copy over a fresh pyrochild.effects.REQUIRED.dll to the Effects folder along with the plugin files? Pls. open your Paint.NET\Effects folder, and make a full-screen screenshot showing folder contents and the full path to the folder in the Windows Explorer Address Bar. Upload to an image host, and post the Direct Link URL here. http://imageshack.us/

Zipit, Yes. In some previous Paint.NET versions Smudge was found in Distorts, now in Tools. Pls. check in Utilities to see if there are any plugin load errors.

HOW TO INSTALL PLUGINS/General Plugin Troubleshooting Thread

I'll just link people to that. -
Should be safe for you to proceed.
-
Smudge will normally be found in the Tools sub-menu of the Effects menu.

Sorry. The "4.0 release UI" is just a little joke I sometimes add to my screenshots. It doesn't exist. That defaults option will show if you temporarily switch from Normal to Fixed Size in the Choose Defaults... window. Rick Brewster's post indicates that changing that setting may not give the desired result anyway. Try it and see, but don't be surprised if it doesn't do the job.

In my experience, the majority of help requests in this thread aren't due to older versions of Paint.NET. -
How to save with transparent background?
Sarkut replied to Gordan Freeman's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Yes. -
This one would probably be the easiest one to reproduce. http://i1042.photobucket.com/albums/b427/Craftbunny/f21-satin-grosgrain-bow-pins-150-pink.jpg

It's a mystery. Maybe someone who knows Word better will have the answer. Do you need to run this through Word? Could it be printed directly from Paint.NET?
-
I don't really know MS Word well. I Googled up some links re: adjusting margins. Adjusting MS Word Margins That may (or might not) be the problem.
-
I suppose that you've checked the document formatting re: margins, etc.
-
What width does it print as?
-
MadJik's Oblique Effect Plugin (not Tube Oblique) is probably the best way of doing this.

Nice ribbon! You've inspired me to take stab at bow making. Here it is: (made from your ribbon) Grosgrain Bow Making the bow was a great learning ordeal experience.

NEWBIE TROUBLE Blend/Smudge Tool....?
Sarkut replied to ganly69's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Here's a tutorial that shows a way to remove blemishes while retaining natural skin texture in the edited parts: (See an example in the Hidden Content at the very end.) The Subterranean Copy/Paste Blues Here's one that shows how to get an airbrushed look in the edit: How to Airbrush like a Professional -
There is no provision for removing the shadow around the canvas. ========================================== For anyone interested in a work-around when cropping - To have the area outside the selection be masked while positioning to crop: Make a new layer and fill it with white. (Or whatever color you prefer) Make a tiny Rectangular selection within the area that will be retained after the crop and press Delete. Magic Wand inside the deleted rectangle, then activate the Move Selected Pixels tool. You can move the alpha selection, resize it, and change its aspect ratio, while the area outside the selection remains blocked from view. When it looks right - Crop to Selection.
