  1. When I made the 15.6cm box in Paint.Net and copied it to Word, it looked identical to the one made in Word, which on screen looks shorter than 15cm.
  2. That link just takes me to the Google homepage. I don't think its to do with margins, because when the outlines print, they print as the full object that appears on screen, all four sides are there, so it hasn't cut any off due to margins etc. It just seems like Microsoft and Paint.Net's idea of 15.6cm isn't actually 15.6cm! Strange because the 3.2cm height works fine. If I hold the object up to the screen and draw the outline around that, I suppose that will still be out by a few centimeters when printed?
  3. No, I'm 15 and a bit of a newbie to all this. I usually just make Word Art etc and print numerous times till I get it correct, but that uses too much time and ink so if I was able to make a template for it all to fit where I want it in that, I can delete the outline and print it. Could you please give some advice on adjusting margins etc?
  4. Hi all, I'm a newbie here so go easy! Basicly I have an object that I am trying to make a simple outline template for, I would like to make the template and transfer it into Microsof Word 2007. I have measured the item to 3.2 x 15.6cm, but when I put the object into Word and print the document, it is too short. The height is spot on, but the length is well out. I have double checked the measurements and they are exact. I was wondering if its just an error I'm making, because when I make a box to the same measurements in Word, it also prints too short but correct height. What am I doing wrong or how can I fix my problem?
  5. Thanks Welshblue, that helped. Although when i put it on the pic, it comes up with a white background, and when I use the magic wand, it cuts off the fade glow bit so its just like a circle... Also tried it on the lightbar, if I can crack this, I think it would look great! Although I think rectangles would look better in the lighbar...
  6. Great, thats exactly how i want it! Will have another go now... Once its on the new layer on the plain background, how do I put it on to the picture in the right place? Edit: I can get the faded light on the new layer blank page, but I cannot get it onto the truck? I have tried merging down layers but that makes it one blank layer with the light in the middle?
  7. Ash, thanks for help. Once I have added a new layer, I take it I make a round shape on the headlight to get the gradients? I am kind of confused abour your hint, can you explain in a little more detail? I am new to this. Great sig by the way! Edit: Here is my attempt. I have tried it on the light in the lower grill. I just can't seem to capture the glare and flash part of it, I would like something litke transparent rays of light coming off of it. If someone can help me here and make a pictured tutorial, I will try and get the lughtbar lit on the roof...
  8. thamks for the help Oma! But sligtly confused. I meant is there a way I can make lights look on usig PDN, with tools, shapes & effects? I do not have an image of the lights on / off thats why I am trying to do it on here. If I put some pics up of the van / truck I want the lights flashing, can you please have a quick go and make me a simpole tutorial? I would really apprecite it!
  9. Hi, I am new to this Paint.Net and I am really into vehicles. I want to edit my photos of trucks and vans and try and make them like they have lights on, is this possible? They have flashing orae lightbars on them, but in the photos they are not on, so can I edit it and make a glow in a section of the lightbar and headlights etc? Also, is there a way I can animate it to actually flash? Thanks.
  10. Hi, I don't understand whats wrong here, I have read the rules and I thought my post was perfectly fine, obviously not. I must be missing something? Whas wrong here?
