  1. Next time I'll know, however, Rick what do you suggest as the correct procedure to resolve this?
  2. Try this. Press Windows key and R , and Run %TEMP% If you find files named PdnMsiInstall.log and PdnSetupNgenInstall.log, please post their contents.
  3. Yes, what Simon Brown said, like this: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/2310/screenshot260q.jpg
  4. Just as a test, see if clicking on the .msi file in the Staging folder will make Paint.NET install successfully.
  5. jkatherine: Just a few questions. What is your OS? XP, Vista, W7? Did you previously have Paint.NET 3.36 or 3.5Beta installed, or is this a first time installation? Pls. check in your Program Files folder to see if the installation attempt created a Paint.NET\Staging folder.
  6. The error message concerns a file from v.2.0, so repair of 1.1 is probably not relevant. Doing the repair on NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is more likely to help.
  7. LeeGeer: With XP you can use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click on the Microsoft NET Framework 2.0 listing, then on 'Click here for support information.' A window will come up offering a Repair option.
  8. Time for another screenshot. This time of the contents of your Paint.NET\Effects folder.
  9. Here is the link to the Help file. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/index.html ==================================== Cropping is to selection, so make a selection first and the crop function should then be active. ==================================== You can make vignettes by filling a new layer with black, select in the middle, delete, Gaussian blur.
  10. ふしぎの国のアリス This may be helpful. http://www.steveglendinning.com/2008/05 ... ue-screen/
  11. Erich Speidel: I'm assuming you've already tried clicking the Repair button. What is the name of the file in your Paint.NETStaging folder? Also, pls. say what OS you are using. Vista, XP, etc. Be sure that the OS is up to date on Service Packs and Windows Updates. Net Framework 3.5 SP1 is installed?
  12. This link will show how to fill with color. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/PaintBucket.html
  13. That seems a bit drastic. You can simply delete the Effects folder inside the Paint.NET Effects folder and then reinstall the plugins.
  14. I second that said by APShredder and Crazy Man Dan. http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/2181/21493201b.jpg ========================================= Edit- Errata removed.
  15. Betty 2: No worries. At the top row on keyboard is Prnt Scrn key. Pressing that will load the screen image into the clipboard. It won't give any indication of having done so. Next open Paint.NET and hold down the Ctrl key and press V. Save. Upload to Imageshack, copy Direct Link and post link here. See this: How to Post Images http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/ Post again if this is unclear.
  16. Betty 2: Please post a screenshot showing your Effects folder contents.
  17. LeeGeer: Do you have Net Framework v.3.5 SP1 installed?
  18. Wynd Fox: Is your Vista "SP2" and up to date on Windows Updates? Do you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 installed? http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... da479ab0d7 =================================================== Please post a screenshot of error message.
  19. alexb: Thank you for the plugin. The precise adjustment and placement of axis of rotation are good features.
  20. scarley: Feather plugin. Part of Boltbait's plugin pack. ============================================= Transparent color? You might do better using the color at full opacity on its own transparent layer. The transparency can then be adjusted using Layer Properties. Layers Window ============================================= If you can post a link to the image you are working on you will get the best suggestions on what to try.
