  1. Yep, Aurora was shaped with S3D. As Goon' had pointed out on the other forum, the clouds should had been on its own layer, which is what I did in this new picture, planet Gaia. I forgot to add Goon' as the master of spacescape... My bad. New image added...planet Gaia completed with an aurora borealis.
  2. Thanks, Possum! It's nice to hear from you.
  3. That's a riot to read. There's too many galleries, and we can only visit so much, no? BTW, I don't know about being another master, but thank you for a very kind feedback. Thanks, nemo. Glad you like the grunge. Aw, shucks. You are an inspirational yourself. As for being speedy, that's probably part of my nature since I work in a production environment, and speed is part of the game. Plus, I have a very nimble fingers and quick working mind to go along with it. ----------------------------------------------------------- New update alert: New image I made. I promise you, no stocks were used in the production of planet Aurora, and it is guarantee to be 100% PDN. It is nowhere near as good as CommanderSozo's or LFC4EVER compositions. Shoot, I was aiming for a near photo realistic picture.
  4. I think this will require more coding on Rick's part. Honestly, I don't see the value of hot-keying effects unless you work for a screen printing company and need a quick access to the most common used effects.
  5. This is similar to a question I asked a few months ago regarding effects management. d.a assured me that Rick was thinking about that, and I am under the impression it might be useful in v4.0 or later. BB, that's an excellent screenshot of a potential effect management system. Right now, I'm sorting through my effects and removing the least used effects to another folder so I don't have to scroll through so many effects to get to the one I'm needing.
  6. I love this plugin! I was able to make this image using this plugin in tandem with Rotate/Zoom.
  7. Updated with two images! First one is a 3D pixel stretch, very easy to make, and first time I ever made it grungy. Second image, is a 3D glossy box. Both of these were inspired by two PS tutorial at Tutorial 9 website.
  8. Better yet, use the Rounded Rectangle plug in set to black. Make your main background color white, flatten layers, save it as a mask, and then run alpha mask over the sig you want to make. Then use Selection>Outline, and then Drop Shadow. Experimenting with PDN is the key!
  9. Oma, my reply wasn't directed at you, but rather at the users who suggested to use other softwares. Now I hope those users didn't disappointed the poster to use another software. I agree that jim should open a gallery to get some feedback or use the Image Hospital to help him out.
  10. Have y'all forgotten that Ash had made a crystal skull recently? It can be done in PDN using S3D and alpha displacement mask.
  11. Ditto what DarkShock said. When I saw it, I was saying, "No...way." That is your BEST piece ever.
  12. You gave me an interesting idea. When I have a chance, I'll crank it up! Excellent! That mean I have finally found a groove for me to work with.
  13. Actually, that's a pretty good attempt. If it was me, I would make the water a bit more straight coming down, add a few mist here and there, and motion blur it. I like the brown because it makes me think there's rock behind the water, and it gives it a rough feel to it. I think the mist can be done using paintbrush, radial blur, and maybe Gaussian blur. Keep trying. Nice job with the ribbons and bell. Not yet time for Christmas, but it's better to be ahead than not to be, I say!
  14. Thank you Helen! The background was made using these techniques from this tutorial that is unfortunately locked. I did it slightly different from the original tutorial. I used Add Noise, White-to-Transparent gradient to make lighting effect, and most importantly, Power Stretch. I had to use Power Stretch 3 times on three different parts of the background. It was originally a black-white cloud rendered, but then I decided to add my favorite color, green, by color tinting it. Liked how it turned out. Thank you nemo! Which ones did you liked the best?
  15. Thanks Helen! I also added a new image, 100% PDN this time, and I like how it turned out.
  16. Wanted to drop a line to say thanks for making this tutorial. It has helped me to make this:
  17. New image added: The first item is a glass ball distorting a rose photograph I took several months ago. The second one is a glass block in which I was attempting to refract the Chaoscope render. Thanks to Ash's displacement tip and the Glass Text tutorial which helped me finally understand the power of Alpha Displacement Plugin.
  18. You could also use white-to-transparent gradient set on Radial to give a lighting effect. 007 Nab has it down pat with the blending options. Mainly, the power of PDN lies in the use of layers. Good luck.
  19. Loving your software boxes a lot. It's good to see you are doing something other than signatures, which is why I haven't posted anything in this gallery. As for a video editing software, if you are tight on the money, may I suggest having a look around on SourceForge.net for an open source video editor?

  24. Storage container? I would had never thought of it that way. Thanks. Thanks, Joker. Your avatar looks frightening in a good way.
