Nice stuff. About the avatars, try making the splinter layers overlay instead of just multiply or something. Overlay makes them look nicer. And try playing with brightness/contrast.

Succeeded sigs: Many versions of my current sig: 5 sigs which ended up as a failure: And my kinda failed T-rex piece: You can see that there are some white bits around the dinosaur because I made it on a seperate canvas and the canvas has a strange background.
