  3. ^^^^ hes right, sometimes ill accidentally paste a picture onto the same layer and the same thing will happen. you need to create a new layer then paste, every time you paste something you need to create a new layer, then you can add effects and blending options as well. it might seem like more work right now, but it really saves you a lot of time once you figure out how to use pdn, good luck! Kevin
  4. looking good ^^ lucas ill see if i can help you any further with this
  5. lucas, im off to bed for tonight, if no one gets to it before me i promise ill help you out tomorrow.
  6. i got a drawing diagram at home on my pc if your insterested leme know
  7. or you could just manually do it, color in the colors of the gradient you want and the shape you want them in, make sure you merge all the colors onto one layer. then motion blur it at 200, mess with the angle to get it how you want it. ^^I know this doesnt look great i just did it quickly, but using this method you can acheive wat your going for pretty easily. plus you can use as many/patterns colors as you want
  8. ^^^^you got the picture uploading down. here's a little tut i came up with. Flower pot Before any of this make sure your :AntiAliasingOff: anti alias is off, this will make it easier to color. First select the ellipse tool and create an oval, do this on a new layer that way it will be transparent. Next click the duplicate layer button, now you should have to ovals, select the selected pixel move tool and move it up. Now draw to lines connecting the ovals and clean up with the eraser tool if needed. Now merge down your layers so all these steps ^^ are on one layer. Then duplicate that layer, hold down the shift button and resize it so its just a little smaller than the top half, then move it into place. Select the line tool and connect the top and the bottom, i didnt connect the end of the ovals i moved my line tool in to give it some shape, because the top and bottom of a flower pot arent the same size. Now it still looks a little flat, so i added a few more ovals to give it some shape, you can do this simply by duplicating the top or bottom layer then resizing and moving it. ^ i forgot to clean up the bottom earlier so i did it at this step, just use the eraser. Now for the dirt were going to merge all the layers together. Then add a new layer. Move this layer down below the outline layer. Select a dark brown (i used 351B13), select with the magic wand the dirt part on the outline, then click on the layer below it and fill it with the paint bucket. Then go to effects/noise/add noise/turn the color saturation down all the way/then the noise to about 30, this makes it look more like dirt. Now to color the actual pot just use the same method above with out the noise, you some different browns, here's what i came up with. i used a reflected gradient for the main part, and texture on the other parts. I just used the flower tut for the flowers, ill add the url for it in a few. -Kevin-
  9. Only sometimes... Only sometimes. Then again, with hair like that, how could you not be tota...? [trails off into conceited banter] I like the monster. Like most of your drawings, he's pretty cool! ... but why are his horns made of bricks? haha, i agree i used to have hair like that lol. ^^thanks for the nice comments on the monster , i thought the brick texture looked kinda cool on it lol
  10. ^^^ that looks awesome wither, you must be really conceded , haha only kidding Hahahahha! I thought you'd spelled lmao wrong. ^^Lol a little Italian lesson But then i read the rest of your post. any opinions on my little smile monster?
  11. please dont type in all caps, im not exactly sure how to tell you how to do this but search here http://www.getpaint.net/search
  12. theres many ways to add a image here are a couple. easiest way right below this box click browse. then find your file, then click add the file. another way is to go to http://www.photobucket.com make an account (its free) then you pretty much do the same thing, but after you upload the image onto photobucket you copy and paste the direct link (ull see this once you upload it) thats wat you have to do. i use photobucket cus it saves my images to there site, therefore backing them up. edit:monster i got to get some sleep, i promise ill show you how to make a flower pot tomorrow, its almost 2 am lol. and i work at 5 lol, ill talk to you tomorrow!
  13. np, here's one i did, im really proud of the coloring. this is the first time ive really worked on experimenting with gradients and textures. I owe this one to ash, oma, and teachespdn, you guys were right looks good and was fun to do. definitely the last picture you see like this. ^^^so cool and monstery looking^^^ i love it^^^ lol
  14. ill show you how to do it, i was just finishing a picture of a monster . lucas im not sure if something is going on with my pc, but i cant see your images, im need evening seeing an area where they are or a url, how are you posting your images?
  15. Something like this? it could be modified, the coloring probably needs a little work, and maybe some more flowers or something. but if this is kinda wat you were looking for i can show you how. edit: this is my first attempt, i can refine it if you like the idea.
  16. ^^^they both got it down lucas, are you familiar on how to upload the .zip wither just posted into your PDN? also ill give ya a hand with the flower pot, gimi a few mins to get it down.
  17. thanks for all the advice guys, it really doesn't go unnoticed to me and the PDN community, im assuming you guys know that, but from my experience here, all the members make the community, but there has to be some one behind the wheel driving it, i think people like ash, oma, rick, and bolt bait really stand out, as well as many other members, these are just the ones that have personally helped me a lot. Thanks for everything, Im always here to return the favor. Kevin
  18. lmao nice oma, i need some help expanding on this one, i think this should be an award to the biggest complainer http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj66/ihclub_hockey/CRYBABY.jpg

  20. ive noticed that a good amount of people have links in there sigs, i no there is no advertising on the forum but seeing this made me curious if i could add a link to our band site on my sig, im working on one thats some band images.
  21. sorry ash and oma, just trying to help , *oma and ash send k.digennaro back in his corner* i guess the reason this is so interesting to me and the reason i wouldnt mind seeing more like this, is simply because this is my style, i enjoy teaching, maybe ill think of another tut, thats PDN related.
