  1. Don't uninstall - many problems occur with partial removals and they are difficult to diagnose. Download 3.5.11 and install over the top of the existing installation. Remember to disable your anti-virus when you perform the installation and re-enable it afterwards.
  2. Old versions are not supported. Don't ask for them. You need to clean out all remnants of the old installation. To do this, try the Windows Installer Cleanup utility as detailed in this post: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/692-install-update-or-uninstall-trouble-read-this/?p=2795
  3. Album cover reminds me of the PS plugin Fractalius. Good luck with this Red!
  4. 1603 error - start with this http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/692-install-update-or-uninstall-trouble-read-this/?p=326988
  5. As a complete guess, try repairing each installed .NET framework. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/692-install-update-or-uninstall-trouble-read-this/?p=25659
  6. Workaround: in order to be saved, the image was probably flattened. Simply press Ctrl + Z (undo) until the image is restored & showing the individual layers.
  7. Hey Star32! Welcome You should be fine downloading the plugins from the Plugins section of this forum. Despite their apparent age, the plugins you mentioned are the most recent versions available. To find more information, check out the Plugin Index (link in my signature). In the Index I list the original Release Date and the Plugin Status - look for ones that are flagged as Active.
  8. A thick border would mean that you don't have to enlarge the original so much. How about fading out the image to a nice dark (black) border? This mini-tutorial might help: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/4749-fade-edges-andor-borders-of-photos/?p=56672
  9. It's not in Downloads. Look in C:\Program Files\ for a folder called Paint.NET. The executable should be inside that.
  10. This thread is almost three years old. It's ancient. <locked>
  11. Post a screenshot of the error message so we can see what we're dealing with.
  12. That looks correct. Open Windows Explorer and navigate down the path "C:\Program Files\Paint.NET" in that folder, find the file named PaintDotNet.exe and double click that (this file is the one kicked into action by the icon).
  13. Hi jqmfg! Welcome to the forum. Try switching the Move Tool Quality option from Smooth to Pixelated (find this option in the Tool Bar when the Move Tool is active).
  14. The workaround is to create correctly sized templates and save them as *.pdn's with a filename that describes the size. Like this: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/24853-how-do-you-stop-paintnet-from-creating-a-new-canvas-upon-program-execution/?p=376215 Double click the template to open it and immediately use Save As... to rename it so you don't overwrite the original (alternatively, set the file permissions as in the linked thread)
  15. ...or you're trying to upload a *.pdn. PDN is Paint.NET's native file format. dA won't recognize it.
  16. Hi songbird - welcome to the forum. Let's see if we can sort this for you... 1. Right click the problem icon. 2. From the context sensitive menu that pops up, choose Properties. 3. Find the field named Target and tell us what it says there (you may be able to cut & paste the field into a post).
  17. McAfee isn't doing the job or you're clicking on the ads and not the download link.
  18. How do the fonts behave in other applications? Normally?
  19. Sticky mouse keys! That's interesting. How on earth did you discover that?
  20. Hey Henry! Have you installed any new fonts recently? I wonder if you have a bad font. Uninstalling any recent font additions might make your problem go away.
  21. Release the right mouse button (keep the left down) to continue adjusting the shape. Reapply the right button to move it again. This way you can cast the shape and position it in one continuous operation.
  22. I manually check the downloads when I post each revision. There should be no corruption or viruses - as confirmed by the multiple posters above. I suspect that jamesbdunn has an overly aggressive virus scanner and that is reporting a false positive.
