  1. there was a signature around Feb I think where the person used a picture with one layer darken and the next lighten and then changed them back to screen and achived a sort of vectorish blue/black image its not in the vector tut and can not find in anything that says screen when I search. anyone remember this one by any chance. I know I should have written it down but well who knew I'd be thinking I'm now able to tackle this one Help point me in correct direction please. OMA edited by OMA found under renders/photo into colored sketches.
  2. do a from the tools menu around your orb. then crop :Crop: from tools menus click file "SAVE AS" looks like this :SaveAs: box should come up first line type what you want to call it suggest avatar xlt second line of that box is save type as use the arrow to the right of that for drop down selections and highlight .png now save I usually save mine in my pictures under a separate file for pdn projects. 3. thought it might be one of those complicated things ... 160 + steps ! ... instead of complete tut could you just explain to me how you got that background gradiant looking like semi shiny brushed metal and how to do the squishy looking blobs. I think I can get the glass part might be similar to my avatar just using different shape. my goal get better and better at this only way possible is to imitate the pro's and follow their examples and ask ask ask questions. chow OMA
  4. Ash I'm down on my knees begging man this pic is fantastic. you just have to do a tut. OMA
  5. always liked your avatar gives me a chuckle stick men simple on the eyes but not as easy to make so smoothly animated. you managed that very well in your last avatar. what ever you choose for your new one I'm sure you will keep it tasteful and lively. look forward to seeing your new creation. OMA
  6. nice work Ash, think you should put a page curl on this one as well. now I'm off to work on my version of your sunset tut. OMA
  7. agree agree thinks its an image on page 238 page 237 will load fine and then again 239 just not the one between those two. OH dam............... ISP provider. there its out of my system. just so frustrating when computor freezes up that way. OMA
  8. well I finally made the new avatar and loaded it up but its not near as well done as the little penguin fellow by GangstaCrab but my skillsa re improving will work on a new one again and try to get a better glass looking sphere. mine's looking a bit like a bubble. not glass and I note that my little ledge where my cube sits needs to be tilted back a bit. too much is showing. thanks to all who helped me out OMA
  9. Hi wonder if anyone else is having problems loading the pictorium. I can load second last page but when I try to move forward to last page my computor just freezes. is this my computor or something with in the forum. thanks OMA

  13. ok I've done the search thing but can't seem to find what I know I've seen on this site. directions on how to use the tube plugin to make a sphere with a portion cut out. there was a small penguin inserted into the cut out portion. would like to try this for my new avator. if anyone knows what that tut was named I'd appreciate hearing from you. thanks OMA

  16. yea I know png is how I'm using on my other applications just couldn't figure out how to upload it to photobucket and maintain that way so went the jpg route. if you would have seen my bumbles attempts at working with paint a few months ago you would be amazed at just how far along I've progressed. always learning OMA
  17. first time I've added something to this section please be nice. OMA [/img]
  18. really loved this tut. very well done. managed to follow all the steps and the pictures showing each step were spot on. My shaky hands had a trouble lining up the one negative square along the 2100 strip so just saved the one and then made new image canvas size to fit the five items and used photo flood fill and then removed the white. was able to follow on from there with good results. especially liked learning that I could make that 100 x 100 box and rotate never knew that before what a left click could give. very good and useful all around. two thumbs up. OMA
  19. well I've downloaded the plug in and played around but I'm not near coming up with anything that looks like your kalidescopes pictures. Help!. its so bound to be so easy but I'm just not getting the hang of it Oma
  20. perhaps i've tried reloading the wrong one but there appears to be still only 4 sliders not rotation etc. point me to proper dll pleas. thanks OMA
  21. excellent can you all tell how much I've progressed in using a computor I managed to download the new version and worked with the sketch effect. really like this one. have already converted a few old photos to sketch and manipulated various elemets from three photos into one sketch for a friend that is illustrating a family history book. keep up the great work Rick and design crew. OMA
  22. yes had been thinking of that but thought I'd better check if there was something a bit more sophisticated. should work in a pinch its not something specific I'm working on just an idea I'd been thinking about attempting. perhaps some of our gurus will deem it a worthy subject to tackle sometime or other. guess we can all wish for something thanks for answering OMA
  23. I see the sphere effect by Ed but is there the reverse convex anywhere. I might be using the wrong key words in my search. thanks OMA

    Drawing a Gemstone

well actually I found this quite a useful tutorial. and since it was me that asked for someone to walk me thru the steps I'd say Ash did a fine job on his first tutorial. just enought of a challenge for us beginners, i know it may not appeal to some on this forum but I had an application for the gemstones so thank you Ash. my grandaughter is thrilled with the little video disc I put together for her and her friends. Drawing a Gemstone

not a problem as I'd probably have asked at that point again. worked my way down to the point where Ash uses curved tool sort of stuck there but I'll niggle away at this until I get it correct. I'm using in an photo story 3 application. pics of the granddaughters pretty princes birthday party. intend to make png images. and insert into the photos think the gemstones will look pretty neat poping up all over the place. especially since all the little darlings were waving fairy wands around in the pictures i've got in mind. what a grandmother won't do to impress the little ones. guess i could always have just copied and pasted pictures of gems but needed and wanted to practise with paint net. (I really wanted an excuse to play) OMA
