hi all just a real shameless post to bring this nearer the top so I can find it more easily. ciao OMA ps hope some of the newer members find some things to help them out.
  2. Thanks for new version Rick will be working with it tomorrow full tilt. ciao for now Oma
  3. perhaps get into the habit of naming your layers. sometimes just the simple little word text instead of layer 1, 2 3 etc helps when working with multiple layers. Its something you will appreciate getting into the habit of doing when you start working with more than 20 layer images. ciao OMA PS I know its not what you asked but as you are at the beginning of using the program its an excellent habit to get into.
  4. left clik and use the arrow keys. up down or across horizontally either way? is that what you mean.
  5. open your image make duplicate layer of it (you have two exactly alike) on top on set brightness/contrast -21 and 100 on bottom one 0 and 100 use rectangle select and cut out the bottom half of the top one. merge the two layers use your paint brush with white to get rid of the writting. ciao OMA
  6. those shapes look better. appears you've managed to keep all the lines perpendicular in them. go with the one you find easier to draw, just make sure all perspective is done on the same plane or you will get one wonky world. you can sometimes get away with fudging perspective on some pictures, doesn't work for every drawing though. ciao
  7. actually the 26.565 is discordinate looking. if you were drawing a home/house shape it would indicate a slanted roof with the higher side at the left top. the bottom box is more true to shape perspective wise. watch your perpendicular lines when drawing box shapes. ciao OMA
  8. LOL! and the great Madjik has no limitations as to creativity. Love the new shapes especially that butterfly. ciao OMA

Aislin good to see you are still around. I've seen some of your latest works really nicely done. I'll be back after Christmas It will take me awhile to get reoriented to all the nice changes Rick has done since last year. And the plugin boys have certainly been busy! (I can see some pleasant plugin mashing coming in my near future.) LOL! ciao OMA and a very Merry Xmas to you sweety

I'm still here in the background, loving how my little chicks are progressing. I see so many fine art works from the three of you it makes me proud I had a little say in starting you all out on your paint.net . ciao OMA MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE ON THE FORUM. hope to be back in the swing of things in the new year.....then you can all be teaching me the little tricks on the newer versions of the program. LOL!
  11. Madjik awesome plugin addition thanks ever so much ciao OMA PS have a great Christmas
  12. oh my true joy....... like an early Christmas gift. something new to play with. Beleive me I'm in early stages of using it in picture and find I'm overjoyed. thanks so much for sharing with us. ciao OMA
  13. from pg 49 in my gallery I did a tulip using the very first version of smudge. If I was to do this picture again. Liquify would be a better option for some of the shaping.
  14. Wonderful plugin thanks ever so much for sharing with us. It's been a long while since I've done any tut's but this just might address some of the drawing problems I need to explain in the idea kicking around in my head right now. ciao OMA
  15. Are you really 71? Lol, just wondering. BTW GREAT tutorials :)

  16. I once did a mini tut in my gallery on page 28 (hummingbird wings) hope this links correctly. ( it is the 13th post on that pge near the bottom of the post) not sure if that's what you are after also somewhere in that gallery of mine is a large pink bird I did. Loved the wings feathers on that one. I'll flip thru my gallery and try to locate the page #. seems all the pages are out of sync with my index. must have happened when we changed forums? ? edit here you go that bird is top of this page ciao OMA
  17. LOL! you will get the hang of things. Soon you will be an old pro offering a helpy to newbies. look forward to viewing a gallery from you once you get on a roll with the program. in the mean time happy PDNing. ciao OMA
  18. see just above the drawing screen it says selection tool, selection mode and then normal. there is a wee little arrow to the right of the word normal clik that you can set a specific size or ratio option. if you clik fixed ratio another two boxes pop up to the right where you can put in #'s or if you want specific fixed size you just clik that and there will be the same two boxes pop up to the right that you put in your 4 x 6 and also note that another box appears as well where you can change to inches or pixels etc. hope that's as clear ciao Oma
  19. thanks Rick you simply amaze me with all the wonderful work you do on this program. cheers and here is a treat from me to you have a nice icy cold one. ciao OMA
  20. glad you found the spot. the links are from when we had old forum, I wrote this tut ages ago. I will have to dig around and edit tut post to reflect the links in this new forum. PS I would love to see the heart you come up with. make sure you post it here or in your personal gallery. ciao OMa EDIT changed the link now you should be taken to the one for Mirror by Evan Olds.
  21. actually looking now at what you want to achieve with the text you may have some luck (depending on size of text) with using tube oblique plug in. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=3491 as I've said many times almost anything is do able in paint.net. most times there is not one set method it all depends on the actual image being manipulated and the desired outcome. Sometimes it takes a few different plugins combined, or a double pass of a plugin. you've been provided with a few alternatives in this thread and I look forward to viewing the finished project in your personal gallery. ciao OMA PS before we had all these lovely plugins I've been known to do something similar using good old polar inversion multiple layers of the same text each a different setting and piecing it together using good old cut and paste method. Thank goodness we now have so many plugins I'd hate to have to explain that method. LOL!
  22. well as mention above the easiest and quickest way to get the method you need is by adding picture. On the off chance here is another method I sometimes use. say if your image is 800 x 600 open a new image 225% larger. and get rid of the white background you need to start with transparent layer. import you picture into this layer. aligned to centre then use lens at full settings. (not magnifier lens) this is the same method you would use to do a fisheye picture. ciao OMA if these are not what you are looking for you will have to provide much more info. There are ways around things and methods to doing almost anything you need to achieve but each situation and image may pose different ways.
