About the saved as .pdn history .
RaveN replied to Tubular Tos's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Yes, I understand, and that will most likely not be integrated. The files would get so huge. The history is stored in a temporary cache for the one time you edit that image... -
I'm new at this, could you help me?
RaveN replied to Becca's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
No trouble... Actually this is what I do, say I want to make 9 3x3 inch squares, making a 9x9 inch image. this involves cropping, not worth it for a collage. Just take your image, and go to layer, then paste image as a new layer option I think it is called and move it around and resize, if you want to scale it, hold down shift or ctrl while resizing with the move tool. -

Send me some hard stuff, I can do it........ I have this image of myself from a conversion from color, to my own black and white scale, then I kept the color of some stuff, like my shirt, and the background. Done in Paint.NET I want to do a hard one in paint.net. Photoshop is too easy to do it in. Right now we are rebuilding really, and I mean really old photos, and colorizing them ( easy ) but we are also taking every single scratch and stuff out of them and whatnot. Also what is fun with the images and what you are doing and take it back another step, and make it into your own grayscale, kind of fun. -

Alright, that is actually easy to do. Go in and make a new document, 1 px wide and 4 tall. Color the bottom half black, and then save that. I have a textures folder in my "My Pictures" to use with photo flood fill plugin. Take your image, make a new layer, and photo flood fill with the tiny "tv scanlines" that you have, play around with the blending mode and opacity. -
Paint.NET v2.72 is now available
RaveN replied to Rick Brewster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
What is the Fill thing, can you set it to fill textures you pick? Kinda like photo flood fill? -
He knows, he commented on how he liked it.

Ok, think of it like this. Say you have a white piece of paper, then you have a transparent piece of paper, like with overhead projectors, and you draw something on it. Then you place another on, and color it in. This is what these image programs do. You can make a layer of an image, say the raven in my avatar. Then I magic wand the raven, and fill it in with a pattern using photo flood fill of a texture of my pleasing. I can make that stay on top as a texture, OR I can change my layer's blending modes and have it blend in. I guarantee you will learn it very fast. Also when you erase a little bit from a layer that has something under it, it will show the underlying layer.

I don't like the bottom of it. Oh well, I made this for a friend. Made in Paint.NET originally, with the texture like that, then I went in photoshop and burned it a tiny bit. So it is 75% PDN and 25% PSCS2 -

Making one color transparent
RaveN replied to MagnetiC's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
That is what we're here for. Also, I would reccomend copying all of those, pasting onto a new layer , and then adjusting opacity, after erasing them in the original source image. Depends on the designer I guess. -

Paint.NET v1.0 Released: May 6th, 2004 The original project that started it all. This was completed in 15 weeks as an undergraduate senior design project at WSU, and was 36,000 lines of code. 15 weeks before that. So for over two and a half years.

I hope it was a joke about that part......Magic eraser in photoshop is basically a little binding, could easily be used as an effect, or a tiny modification of a tool. It is like a magic wand, but deletes it automatically. But then again, you can always magic wand, then press Delete. The only addition I would like is to have subtractions available to selected areas, they help make interesting shapes, and are cool....Also, I would like to request if possible, a way to change the key assignments... Like I just think wand and lasso shouldn't be under S.

Not really. Although a version that is PNG w/ alpha would be useful. Well it does depend on the background, but from the bottom, I can see through most of my CD's, the strip part a little bit with ease with little light, could just be the ones I purchased, but for an artists CD, with artwork on the front, you would and should not be able to see through. There is not a place to upload Pdn files, and view them as images, because I don't think any of the major browsers (IE, FF, Opera, Netscape) support viewing it as an image, you can host it on a site that lets you store zip files. -

The CD itself should be slightly transparent.
