I did something like that for an effect on my "Yellow Wash" piece. http://www.freewebs.com/ravendesign check it on portfolio....I did that and used some wierd blending mode. -
MAGIC ERASER IS THE BEST

I have a really simple way in Paint.NET Involves the top layer, or should I say, the less detailed one, make your design, then erase the other side of it. Gauss blur at 50-100 pixels depending on the size of the image your making.

Good Idea.

no white background for pics

Really? What about subtracting? I have tried it before but it didn't do anything. Subtracting would be excellent for odd shaped images, where you could lasso around it and subtract like that. -

Or you can carefully lasso it.. I wish that PdN would allow you to add to a selection... -
I will make one later on, I was busy today, I got in trouble at school today.

no white background for pics

If it is plain white, I am pretty sure that it will all be selected with magic wand even at 1%, but I am not 100% sure on that. -

Did you have a small gradient or blur the blue into a transparent background? if so it all depends on the site and background it is on.. If you don't want a background when you are designing your thing, take the eraser, and then erase the entire white till you see the checkers, which are indicative of transparency. -
I will hop on it tomorrow night, I will try one in Paint.NET if I get to my other house... Actually, Probably will not be able to get to it tomorrow night, I am supposed to be taking the lady out to a movie, I will get it done when I get home from school. I used to aggressive skate, I was sponsored.

Use clone stamp, clean it up, and then type over, put an overlaying layer of some destroyed type pattern then voila.

I reccomend looking on font sites to find your favorite fonts, dafont.com is free of problem fonts, and they are all tested.....

http://www.fonts.com/findfonts/mondosea ... &kid=Stars That is for the stars, kind of bad, I suggest making a small yellow circle in the center of a white star and putting some blur on it, like 2-4 pixels, then on each of the points, make a little one pixel wide line extension and blur that one pixel. http://www.dafont.com/butterflies.font Butterflies. I reccomend Using http://www.dafont.com/en for the fonts you use. If you EVER want clip art, I reccomend using http://www.grsites.com Great sites, all free.

I actually did do some stuff in Paint.NET I added a bit of glow, I hate the way Photoshop does glow, but that is because I am too used to paint.net -

I don't wanna sound like a jerk, but I CAN make it in paint.NET I used that as a reference to help myself. So bash all you want, I could care less what YOU think. So good day to you. -

Lol, I made it in photoshop originally. I have been thinking about how it will work in Paint.NET and I have some idea. I will recreate it in PdN tonite, and post my result.. All you do is take some cracked mud, and inverse colors, select a sphere, put some shading on it to make it spherical, then fill in the background, then flatten it, put some sharpening on it, then you polar convert it, rectangular to polar first, then put some streaks on it, then you take it back to polar to make it a circle again. -
You can easily add some white in then blur it a lot to get that shine effect. You could easily find a font that will give stars, or butterflys, or find some clip art, and fill it in with white, the text can be moved around as well...

I call it "Boom" -
Well select the skin, Add noise, and adjust the bottom bar so it goes monochromatic in a sense, and uses less of the other colors. Then go to layers, adjustments, curves, and curve the luminoscity of it, best way to get some random dots, either that, or make them yourself, and then I suggest making a bunch of them, make some more prominent than the others, then blur it all one pixel.

In my experiences, comparing paint.NET to other image programs is useless. I looked at a preview on some site rick made or something, and the multiple images will look cool. I think like maybe a brush opacity option on the top toolbar, or some more shortcuts like to change size of the brush...

You could easily get textures from GRSites.com I use them all the time when I need textures. -
Can you load brushes on Paint.NET?
RaveN replied to SHMCMINN's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
All you need is a Key, you can download the free trial version, which IS the full version, you just enter your code when you choose between trial and entering key.
