  1. I'm glad this is finally available in the app store. Next up, I'll make my plugin pack available as well.
  2. There is nothing like that in paint.net. The closest thing you've already discovered and that is using a grid plugin to draw a grid on a different layer and use that to help you line things up. If you are careful about putting stuff on their own layer, you can try this plugin to help align things: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/4193-align-object-plugin-updated-06172007/
  3. Can you give us a screenshot of what was in your Effects folder?
  4. It is because the center plugin and the outline plugin both require transparent pixels surrounding your object to know where to apply their effect. The Background layer is filled with white pixels--not transparent. That's your problem right there. In the future, just don't use the background layer for anything.
  5. If it didn't, there would be a red note in the first post. And, it wouldn't be pinned in the forum.
  6. It sounds like a good idea. However, it is difficult to get all of the plugin authors to agree on a single distribution. In the meantime, the more prolific plug-in authors have made their plug-ins available in packs.
  7. Not safely. I recommend downloading packs of plugins from here: https://forums.getpaint.net/forum/44-plugin-packs/
  8. Select the part of the image you wish to keep (using tool). Press the crop button on the bar just below the menu (looks like this: ).
  9. If no one answers you in the next 4 hours, I'll give you the code.
  10. Try: Layers > Rotate / Zoom It is built-in to paint.net.
  11. "Best" is subjective. The most useful plugin to you totally depends on your artistic style. In order to keep paint.net performant, I would suggest installing only the plugins you actually use on a regular basis. Try installing a few plugins and see if they are useful to you. I recommend starting with the plugin packs that are pinned and starred in this forum: https://forums.getpaint.net/forum/44-plugin-packs/
  12. Be aware that paint.net has trouble with Windows 8. Can you upgrade your OS to Windows 8.1? It is a free upgrade from MS.
  13. I'm glad you see the value in the tool. Surely, that is a very small price to pay for the convenience that is the Plugin Browser?
  14. Try installing this plugin: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/110458-the-plugin-browser-v1203-aug-5-2017/ It is everything you want... and more.
  15. Rick never wrote the DDS file type plugin anyway. One of the volunteer coders here at the forum, Dean Ashton, wrote it and Rick bundled into paint.net version 3.10 and it hasn't been touched since. Unfortunately, @Dean Ashton hasn't been posted here on the forums in over 10 years. But, you could always try sending him a PM and see if he responds. Other than that, I'm afraid you'll just have to wait until someone else comes along and volunteers to write a better DDS plugin.
  16. Unfortunately, for you, DDS file support is not an active area for development in paint.net. However, perhaps one of the plugin coders could make something for you. Anyone?
  17. CodeLab 2.24 Released This is only for Paint.NET 4.0.6+! Small update today... Changes: ▪ Added a "File > Open Recent" menu. (toe_head2001) ▪ Title bar contains "*" if the script has unsaved changes (toe_head2001) Grab the CodeLab DLL here: http://www.boltbait.com/pdn/CodeLab/
  18. Unfortunately, the line tool only uses the primary color to draw the line. That means, that if you choose a dashed line style, the dashes will be drawn using the primary color and the spaces in between the dashes will remain the original canvas. You might be able to draw two lines (one on top of the other--first using the solid background color, then using the dashed primary color). Not optimal, I know. But, hopefully this will help you.
  19. "en" is English, "ru" is Russian. Pick the one for the language you prefer.
  20. That picture was taken at about 11:45pm just after the restaurant had closed. We'd had dinner, drinks, and a 5 hour conversation.
  21. Nope. The tutorial is complete... and it really is the best way to sharpen a blurry photo.
