  1. Main UI: I think you should add the current foreground/background color indicator to the tool bar (any one of them, but probably the "tool" tool bar.) The "Window" menu should have access to switch between the different open graphics. I see there is a hot-key for switching images (Ctrl-Tab). Nice. In the new color docker: I don't think the graphical H indicator (of the HSV area) should change color. Ever. It is very confusing as it works now. It should always look like a full-color, bright rainbow. Left-Click on the new color wells should select primary color, Right-Click should select secondary color. Deleting a color is not very intuitive. It should work one of two ways: 1) Click to select a color (and it would remain highlighted, outlined), then click the X or 2) Click the X and the cursor changes to an arrow with an X in the corner to indicate that you are in "delete mode". Other controls should be disabled in this mode. To cancel the mode, click the X again or press ESC. When saving a color the cursor should change to indicate that you are in "save mode". Clicking Save and entering illegal characters causes a crash. Try typing a file name with a ">" character in it. I'll let you make your own crash log for that one. Here's another crash: Open a pallet file using notepad, change one of the colors to FFXXYYZZ and save the file. Load it. Save it to a new name. Crash. Sorry if my tone is a bit on the harsh side. I'm at work.
  2. I'm not sure. TOON is the only non-standard plugin that I have loaded.
  3. Do filters have to be recompiled to work with this build? I opened an image and ran the TOON filter. Crash. This text file was created because Paint.NET crashed. Please e-mail this file to feedback@getpaint.net so we can diagnose and fix the problem. 4. Well, this thing's worthless. I can't get it to work with XP.
  5. Rick, even if you don't add actual pressure simulation, how about adding a new pencil mode similar to how this program works: SketchIt! It has a very natural feel. Well, my friend finally brought me the tablet he has. It is called "Pablo" by KB Gear Interactive. I'll see if I can hook it up tomorrow.
  6. If I select something, then flatten the image, the selection goes away. Can this be fixed? I am constantly working around this. Thanks.
  7. How is an airbrush different from drawing on a new layer and applying a frosted glass filter to it? That's what MS Paint would look like. Or applying a guassian blur to it (like other programs would look like).
  8. Use the text tool and do the following: Hold down the Alt key and press 0169 on the keypad, then release the Alt key. Result: ©
  9. I love your Toon filter, but it needs an icon in the effects menu. Oh, and I've noticed that the TOON filter interacts nicely with other filters. For example, taking your original image I did a Frosted Glass (1), TOON, Blur (1): This gives is a very rough look (crayons?) that I really like. I think a lot can be learned by looking at the source code to this effect.
  10. Cool. The guy in the next cubicle from me just told me that he owns one. He's going to let me borrow it tomorrow. I'll post my thoughts after using it.
  11. Are these all compatible with Paint.net? I've never used this type of device before.
  12. Ummm... that's a link to a laptop. What I want is a drawing tablet. Not a tablet PC or a laptop. Basically it is a drawing surface that you use a kind of eletronic pen to draw on. The results are seen on the computer screen. Here is the kind of thing I'm looking for: Drawing Tablet
  13. I'm thinking about buying a drawing tablet for my PC as my Pocket PC screen is frustratingly small. Does anyone have recommendations for anything that works with Paint.net?
  14. Rick, I feel you should rethink that. You are building a community here. An important part of a community is getting to know each other. When members of a web community feel comfortable here they will draw in many new members. This will make paint.net more and more popular. This can only be a good thing. I am a moderator of another online forum with about 38,000 members and I can tell you that the General Discussion forum is one of the most popular. Plus, it will keep the chatter down in the other forums. EDIT: Of course, you could just expand the definition of your current General Discussion forum to include discussions about anything not related to Paint.net.
  15. Yes, its called the "Magic Wand". Play with the tollerance and it will do what you want.
  16. It is not a reflection. It is an echo.BTW, less talk, more pics! Here's one I did for another thread: It's the little things that really make a good edit.
  17. Why not grab some better looking clouds? A very BLISSful house... hehe.
  18. So, I'm using Paint.net to enter some text on a bitmap and found a very minor issue. I was trying to input the ® character by using the keyboard sequence Alt-0174. When I pressed the 4, the cursor moved left one letter. So when I let go of the Alt key I had "Inte®l" instead of "Intel®". When the Number Lock is "on", I don't see the problem.
  19. Nice job. But, you might want to erase the stars you can see through the clouds and put a few more in the sky area. Oh, and thanks for the props!
  20. Well, the source code is available, so you could "fix" it yourself.
  21. There is a nice tutorial on how to do it here: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1886
  22. I fixed it. (You may need to refresh your browser to see the change.) What do you think? Much smoother?
  23. It would be irresponsible to release something like that to hundreds of thousands of users with so little testing. If only all of Microsoft felt as you do. BTW, when you find issues with GDI+, do you feed those back to the Windows development team?
