To cut a long story short é> click "Add Brush" and select the image.

There's a glitch that crashes pdn when you select a brush while the brushes are still loading. Could you fix that?

I think there always was that glitch. That's why I wait till the brushes have loaded before clicking anything.

Im having this problem on windows vista, i cant open the custom brushes at all! when i try to open it , it crashes, and i don't click anything to make it crash. im using the newest paint.net version. please help me! ^^

I know this is not strictly about the Custom Brushes plug in but as the thread about the ABRViewer has been locked I thought it might be OK to post here.Apologies if I was wrong.

It`s just to say that I have finally managed to download the program but not from any of the links supplied in the `Converting PS Brushes' thread because the Sourceforge downloads just would not work. Instead I had to Google the program and download it from here -

I don`t know if anyone else is having problems but the download from this website worked fine.

I hope this helps if needed .

Hello all,

I installed Paint.NET on my Windows Vista Home Premium pc. Now, I am trying to get the Custom Brushes installed - so I donwload the latest 5.1.4. However, nothing helps. I re-installed all the plug-ins. The pdncrash.log is shown below....

I created a Custom Brushed folder myself in:

C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Paint.NET User Files\Custom Brushes

and put some PNG files in it.

I deblocked the Effects files (CustomBrushes.dll and ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll)

The Windows version is Dutch. Is that the problem?

Okay, let me re-write that

I see the "Draw with Custom brush" in the pulldown menu Effects.

When selecting this item I get the crash.

Does it make any sense to you?

Did I put the PNG files on the right location?

Or is the Dutch windows the problem?

How do I know whether it crashes during the loading of the custom brushes?

Perhaps the Custom Brushes folder is not set properly, I created a folder myself.

Reading this topic, this plugin should create a folder but it does not

Delete the folder (back up your brushes) and run the plugin and see if it creates it.
