Paint.NET does remeber font, size, string ect. just use the text tool and pick your settings. go to another part of the canvas and pick the text tool again and it the same setting you set last time. It just can't remeber them setting if you close the program and re-open it. Not many programs can remeber font setting that were used last. I also think this would make loading slower and more errors in the program. We already see error's were a bad font file can crash Paint.NET.

Now what would happen if the program crashed do to a font and then when you re-open the program it remebered the last font used ?

I think it would be in a loop hole of crashs till un-installed.

3) i want scroll canvas freely.

Can't you already do this ?

If you're referring to the Color Picker (it's the one on the right side of the pencil icon), you can set that as well in the Choose Defaults dialog which barkbark pointed out in the previous post.

There's an option, "Color Picker - After Click:" which you can set to either change automatically to either the Pencil or the tool which was last selected.

2) i want to remember character string information.

(font, size, string etc. )

If you're referring to text that can be edited after it's finished, that is on the "hopes and dreams" list, meaning it's something everyone wants, but there is no scheduled time for it to be added.

For now, you should create a new layer for your text so you can move it independently of everything else, and so it's less of a hassle if you have to delete it and type it again because of an error in spelling, et cetera.

3) i want scroll canvas freely.

You can hold the spacebar to activate Free Pan mode. As long as the spacebar is held, you can click on the canvas and drag to move the view around. Once the spacebar is released, it returns you to the tool you were using.
