roastednick
Upgrading to 4.0 I quickly realized it was gone. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/25598-does-anyone-use-the-freeform-shape-tool/ Turns out no one uses it. I use it a lot for quick drawings/sketches. http://imgur.com/OPTUVk8 || An example (I've done many more)

Goonfella
I was working on an image the other day and while I don't often use it , it would have been handy for what I was doing at the time. The best way round it is to add a layer, create the shape you want with the line tool, select it, move to the layer below and do what you need to. Hopefully we'll get it back in a future update. Ego Eram Reputo
Its gone. Don't hold your breath for its return. Rick did ask for opinions. The overwhelming response was that it was rarely used. I can see why Rick cut it and focused on other features. david.atwell
You know, for the kind of work you're doing, you'll actually probably find Inkscape to be a better tool. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
