Hi all. Apologies in advance if this has been covered elsewhere (but a search didn't bring much up wrt canvas size at all, tbh). It might only be a small thing, but is there a way of changing the default setting on the 'Canvas size dialogue box? For example, at the moment, for me, it's as in image (a), defaulting to 'Absolute size', wheras my work consistently requires the settings you see in image (b), that is, the 'By percentage' radio button checked at 200%. Any thoughts?

Thanks for everything, by the way, that yous all do here: the number of times I haven't had to post is testament to the number of times you've aleady helped some other guy out. Cheers!

The default canvas size is scaled from the system DPI.  The dimensions will be 800xDPI by 600xDPI; at 150% DPI the default canvas will be 1200×900.

The other way to set a canvas size is to make yourself a correctly sized template and save it as a *.PDN to your desktop. Flag the file as Read Only to stop it being overwritten. Not with this user. I open paint.net> click on New> size the canvas and that's it.

Why is not being able to set a default canvas-size an issue for you?

How is this not an option yet? Its been an issue for users for years.

Because not many people are asking for it, and because it hasn't been implemented.

Features don't just magically appear. It takes a lot of time to design, implement, localize (translations), and test them.
