  1. Thank you dug. I did go a little overboard with the drop shadow, but I think the out come works The background Welshblue did works really well and I'm pleased with the logo comp entry too, the props are nice against a glass plane
  2. I think its OK as it is. Times new roman can be difficult to read and comic sans is unprofessional (I think)
  3. Love the result of that nitenurse79. I will try that for some text.
  4. Thank you all for the recent comments. The perspective on the ellipse was good, but now Welshblue has made it great
  5. I really like that london underground image DrewDale, it looks very eerie and dusty. Nice banner you have made too.
  6. I think he has done a great job on the background
  7. Aah right, now I get it, so then if I am not happy with the effect, I just delete the dupe layer. Thank you for the tip Welshblue
  8. @ Welshblue - I didn't even know you could have drop shadow on its own layer? I just thought it needed an object to work with, another new thing to learn @ nanettealsop - Thank you, I love the little fishing guy. I have created an entry now for the Escher comp @ blackpenny - Thank you also, I'm now trying to find my own ideas based on what I have learned from people on here
  9. Sometimes I impress myself, I managed to create what I think could be Escher influenced
  10. Same here. I have just spent over an hour looking at Escher's work and there is no way I could make a sig as complex as that work. It will be interesting to see some of the entries though, a chance to learn from the best
  11. I agree with all the above comments nanettealsop, the detail in miley and bean are really good, you have put a lot of time into it and what a great result
  12. Thank you all for the comments it means a lot to me. @ DrewDale - It will be interesting to see what your idea will be like The fisherman idea came from seeing a no smoking sign in an obvious place (a petrol station) so I thought a man fishing on a railway was pretty off the wall
  13. A really good entry and worth the win nanettealsop, congrats also to Welshblue and barbieq as runners up Thank you to nitenurse79 for running a good competition too
  14. I only ever wasted one monitor and that was a pure accident (honest officer ) I just put beneton on my PC and it seems OK (Windows 7&8 are pretty close relations) My pdn related stresses are more like frustration, I want the end result before I have made a "new layer" What I really do like is the ability to share what I have made and learn from some of the best people on here - far too many to list, but you are in the top 5 for inspiration and help for that I do thank you.
  15. Thank you Welshblue, your encouragement means a lot to me. I put my catching on fast to never giving up or throwing a chair at the monitor I really do find pdn to be a really great way to unwind and with a blank canvas, a great way to develop something that others can enjoy Thank you also for the link to beneton, It looks interesting, if it works on Windows 8 I will be happy
  16. Thank you nanettealsop. I have learned much from tutorials on here and off other peoples points and tips I am working on a couple of new things now and I hope to post them during the coming week. I may even get brave and try a animated gif stlye one pretty soon The only thing I would struggle with on animated is if I could make one bigger than signature size. Ideally I would like to make a 600x450 but not sure if its possible
  17. I really like your new signature / avie combination Minners71 very shiny
  18. At least I'm not alone I just clicked the link in DrewDale's post and it looked like that, but I tried J101's method and got it all on default settings. a WEOAMP if I ever saw one
  19. That's not a julia fractal J101. It is a galaxy tutorial (if he means his signature image) Edit & Red faced - Yes it is. Sorry (note to self) Try before I buy
  20. As a tip what I always do is type in the layer properties box what I have done
  21. That space scene is very realistic, I love the light and depth you have created
  22. Thank you barbieq, your tutorial helped me a lot to make those images, plus of course the clip warp plugin too
