  1. Drewdale, love the look you achieved. Scary not cartoony. I'll have to keep playing and thanks for your inspiration as well.
  2. Welshblue, love her luscious lips. Some make-up commercials go on about glowing skin. Yellowman, yes, I was losing to much detail shrinking him down and the image looks cartoony anyway, so I left him.
  3. MrSnaredog, good try as others have said and maybe added lines and/or blurs behind the object to show movement. Sasha, the colors on your name - perfect together and with just the right amount of bevel. The angle of the whole sig gives it drama. Needs a little bit of something at the front edge of the base to show some definition. MrSnaredog - 0 Sasha - 3
  4. Hey hello. So much energy in your new sig. The blast/wormhole(?) and optical illusion box just keeps my eyeballs going. Valve, I see a lot of old hand cranked meat grinders at yard sales with a very similar metal texture and shape. Great shadows. Treebeard, looks like you may have used Laplacian Pyramid Filter in that one and like your wrinkles. Most of your work looks so personal. All good and well presented.
  5. Thanks Dug and thanks for the info. I haven't played with Local Contrast one to much, but if it gets me closer to images like your new sig that would be nice.
  6. Ahh, Butterfly Dust, love the title and the picture...He looks in a hurry. First cell phone...Hilarious.
  7. Thank you all. ^ I've added links to the Rusty Barrel tutorial and the main plugin used. Daniels, Laplacian Pyramid Filter plugin gives a gritty, dirty or in some cases an HD look.
  8. Scullbonz, Mars playground – exactly how it will be - so much open ground. The foreground position of the Rover really draws the eye in. Prosper, Imagine - The way I want to feel. Think I need to make a wallpaper like this to look at every day. Yellowman, fabulous, the idea of sunflowers in space. Question...Shouldn't the turbines in the spaceship look like they're moving? 'Course maybe the anti-grav is on. Welshblue, nice looking fellow, like the detail. Looks like he is about to rise and off he'll go. Yellowman, well put together image. Like both water versions. (Self...Need to take more cloud photos) Skullbonz's Rusty Barrel tutorial was the starting point for this. Thanks Skullbonz.. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/26840-make-a-rusty-barrel/#entry394853 Used Laplacian Pyramid Filter plugin. And lots of fiddling. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=24563 Mr. Bill's Dead End * Edit: Organizing PB.
  9. Congrats Helen, wonderful entry. Congrats to all you runner-ups. Very interesting entries. Good work everyone. Thanks to all the voters and to Drewdale for keeping this comp going.
  10. Helen, wonderful entry, congrats for 1st place. Congrats to Welshblue, EER and Yellowman for your wins. Great entries everyone, great ideas. Thanks to all who participated.
  11. Yellowman, I think you need your own thread. The results are similar to Klaxxon's, but made so differently and I don't know where to post my result from your tutorials. Maybe EER can wave his magic wand again.
  12. I did understand (I think), just thought that this would get more attention in its own thread...and it has. Thank you EER. I've got a few versions. This one I ran the Donut plugin on it. Welshblue, I never understood Condition Hue/ Saturation. I made one of your rings using it...pretty. Still don't understand it. Yellowman, I'll watch your video. Edit: Re-posted image.
  13. I think your new ring tutorial needs to have it's own thread as it has a totally different effect. I played a little with it today and it's so easy to do. I'll try to post something tomorrow.
  14. Uh-oh. The twisty ring. That looks really cool. Sure, I'm willing to pull my hair out...just kidding. Love to try. Drewdale...Looks good.
  15. I finally really got it. Apologies Klaxxon for posting my way, but I was asked and I didn't know were else to put it. I got it now and my screen shot, hopefully, will be a help to others. Hey, I really like your satellite. Edit: removed my version.
  16. I still got a little confused, but your screenshots helped me to figure it out my own way. I can see possibilities for future projects. Made another ring in that infamous purple and then used Color Flip/Rotate and found blue.
  17. You need to learn how to use the Paint.Net program. Any problem you may have creating the look you want members may be willing to help. They will not do it for you.
  18. I have a few problems. #7F6AA0 gives me a nice purple color. No.16, Flood mode selects both inside and outside of the ring. Layer selection should be clarified. Not just up and down layer. And it looks shiny, did you use a blending mode? DrewDale, typing away when you posted and so I have a few repeats. Edit: All my problems solved.
  19. Daniels, I admire the evenness of the shine across your letters. I'm unsure of the background, but it doesn't detract from your name and lets the viewer know your interest. Nitenurse, your letters blend into the background too much. A different color would have made your name pop. Daniels - 3 Nitenurse - 2
  20. Wizard - I think we all wish we had a bit of magic in our work and you certainly did with this one. Love all the little detail. Wonderful... Congrats on the Galleria entry. Greenman - I think I may have known him ages ago.
  21. Found a tut that makes sense to me. Yes you can, just treat it similar to what's shown in the tutorial. Hope it helps. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21508-improved-grafitti-technique/
  22. Thanks EER Clean and serene for me.
  23. Carbon hole? Does that mean coal, diamond mine or maybe a hobbit hole?
  24. Congrats EER on your 1st time 1st place win. And congrats to all the winners. Thanks to all that participated. We are all winners.
