Alpha Masks are always confusing to me. I've used them a few times before but it's like I can't quite grasp how to use it most effectively. Like it never seems to work the same way

Well, do you have the image and black background on separate layers? If so then you can probably just use Effects>Objects>Feather. If not then you could paint over it by zooming in with :ZoomIn: and using the tool on black. More tedious but it works.

Yes EER Drop Shadow is in the Stylize Section not the Object section.

Okay well no effects are doing the trick, so is there a way to use the paint.net brush for watercoloring (like from scratch) cause I tried custom brushes mini ,but that doesn't work since it drags an image either like a stamp, or as a solid non-watercolor stroke.

Simply stunning work Aislin! Love your images. They are quite life-like and the smooth eyeliner, eyes, and flowers are exquisite!! Way to go!
