Collab Request - ALL SPOTS TAKEN!
survulus replied to Ouchy_S's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
What's happening with that project 2 thing? If anything at all... -
look in the tuts section, there's a tutorial on how to do it in the misc. section.
-
Really love your sig style at the moment, it's just so great.

Music is a big part of a lot of people's lives. We all have our favourites, which have inspired us, or cheered us up when things don't look good. So here's a competition where you can show your appreciation for any band you know, it could even be a local one, or the world's largest band, from pop groups, to jazz ensembles to rock bands. Everything is welcome. Just do some artwork on Paint.Net for it. This is not an entry topic. This topic is simply to see if anybody would be interested. So... anyone interested? I obviously am, and would enter if everyone was okay with that.

How do you do those sort of circles around him, cus it's a pretty sweet effect. -
Some really good stuff there, especially considering it's only been a few months you've been on PDN. Some of it looks properly professional.
-
I really like how the first piece came out, the pattern on the actual planet just suits the picture perfect.I'm not such a massive fan of the smart-car piece.

My Attempt The only thing I don't get is, how can people find a technique this complex??
-
I really like your abstract work, but more specific real things like the iPod commercial gag need a lot of sharpening up, like for the white line instead of using paintbrush use the line tool and bend it into shape... things like that really.

Some pretty interesting ideas here, like your current sig, quite a crazy splatter feel to it, which is cool, though there could be a colour scheme to it? I'm not sure really. It's a pretty cool gallery so far, the only thing I have to say is that you should just go crazy, experiment like hell. About half of my material is improvised, I'll have no idea what I'm going to create when I open PDN, and I just mess around with it until it looks nice. From what I see here they seem relatively pre-planned, which is fine sometimes, but obviously it can be fun to experiment. Just a few tips. Nice galelry though.

Zwicky's Gallery - UPDATED 11 June 2010 [New Wallpaper Set]
survulus replied to Zwicky's topic in The Pictorium
You have a real nice kind of artistic style shown here, you seem to like using multiple colours, gradients and colours quite a bit, and I have to say it really works. Whilst I'm not a massive fan of your newest sig and avatar, I must say your stuff is usually of the highest quality, you've got some really good stuff there! <- I really like this one. -

Is there a minimum ammount of screenshots needed?
-
Can't say I've found the pluggin either, that would be perfect. What about a shine on something like a photo?
-
I had to vote for the Mona Lisa one, it just turned out so well but in a very subtle way even though I can see a little pattern of post envelope at the bottom, haha. I should've curled the edge on mine though, and not done the "film" effect on the whole image, ruined the illusion a little... still, 3 votes, thanks all.

Oh, right. Man, everything is here. I searched but didn't find any under "glass orbs", but I go again, haha. You can close this now I suppose. Or whatever.
-
For school I'm designing 8 pages of a magazine, so the back page I have planned to have a circular image, however I thought it'd be cool to give it a glass ball look, a nice shine. So can people suggest the best way to do this? I know how to do basic shines, but any way to make it look like a kind of glass orb or spherical object? Thanks in advance people!

Paint.NET is getting noticed!

To be honest I dunno why we have that, there's no course for image editting or digital art or anything, it isn't really used sadly. -

PDN is used in my school, that's where I found out about it, so there's quite a few people use it there! -
Some really cool stuff there, though one thing that isn't great is that a lot of the avatars have stretched or squashed images meaning they look a bit funny. But the actual desings I really like.
