  1. In another kind of UI work: I add a new layer with a blend mode multiply or color burn. Then I just draw yellow filled rounded rectangle to hilight some area/buttons... I also use the gravity plugin to reduce the image size without losing information : set "erase similar lines" to on. To reduce even more you'll need to unify the header and the side (one color instead the gradients).
  2. What are you working on? How many often will you need this feature? (give some sample to let us see the amount of work) You coudl use the lasso to draw a first raw selection and refine the selection using Ctrl key to add the new lasso or using Alt key to substract. Then you could draw any kind of polygon selection...
  3. This is my entry for this SOTW. No stock, except my own 100% pdn starfield.
  4. The width range makes the use of the mouse more hazardous. But if you click beside the cursor on the slider line, the value increase/dicrease by 5.
  5. I praticipated to a tuto for simple wings draw in the old forum. I've only found the pictures, but it's a good start... Wing folder
  6. Hi sawelli and welcome to the forum. Your first image is 800x600 and you import a second image 600x800 into a new layer. This way Paint.net resizes the canevas without notification to fit with the new size. It only need to increase the height to 800. So the new size is 800x800. And the image is imported at the top-left corner. Also if your screen resolution isn't enought Paint.net makes a zoom out to let you see the entire canevas...
  7. sprocket vs gear, this is too specific for my english... BTW : Nice pictures YM and skullbonz, I'm glad I've learned you new stuff with median noise
  8. Ok then let's go for some suggestions... (Just my humble opinion) 1.The plan aren't correct. By the size the subject on the right looks nearer than the one in the middle. And if the gun is aiming the subject on the left it should be behind the his arms. 2.Try to add a border but it 's ok without. 3.The subject in the middle doesn't have the same finishing than the others (she misses the lines in her hair and the shadowing is flat when the others have gradients)... 4.I miss something colored (SinCity like)... Good luck...
  9. Some new stuff: http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/MadJikF59/jewel.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/MadJikF59/cube4.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/MadJikF59/eclipse.jpg
  10. You could make a rectangle selection across the canevas and run a random shape fill... -stars/confettis -mini size=1 -keep inside=yes -fill color=primary and secondary -outline color=primary and secondary
  11. I would create a multicolor layer and use the clone stamp... Edit: I'm just out of subject!
  12. Isometric wiki Based on this article, here is what I could get closest to iso distortion:
  13. Welcome to the forum TychoBrahe! A new layer is a new transparent leaf you put in tha package. An object is an image surrounded with transparency like the apple in the new layer. But when you pasted the apple you still have the selection active around it. Effects apply on selection. Outline or drop shadow can't be efficient with no space around the apple. So unselect and redo the effects... To obtain again previous selection, you could paste in a new temporary layer as your copied apple is still memorized.
  14. Use gradient and multi layers to cut/blend smoothly the horizon as you need. Provide your picture if you need more help!
  15. Or use the move selection tool to place/enlarge/reduce perfectly your selection...
  16. I've used the Rotate/Zoom layer function for the ground and the sky.
  17. Then add a new layer (press F4 to lower the opacity) dedicated for your lines at 100% opaque. At 100% the lines will merge all together instead overlaying.
  18. Oblique plugin should help you, but you'll have to correct some pixels by hand... Oblique Effect Plugin http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=2524
  19. You are working with a color with transparency... On the color windows, press the "More..." button and check the Transparency - Alpha is 100%!
  20. if you google image serach "splash" you could find the same one in purple... There is the plugin Splashes http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=9300 to start. It really depends the kind of result you want. These instructions could give some kind of splash: Set the brushwidth to 20-50 Draw with the pencil a raw form having curves and spots Use the dents effect Do a zoom blur Select the transparency with tolerance 50% and delete Run a meduim noise.
  21. Welcome to the forum. You've quoted a post from 12/2007 without image or description! I can't see what you want explanation about...
  22. I wanted to say to start from large empty canevas (not to enlarge from a smaller image). It isn't a big issue to create the splat compared to the quality resulting...
