  1. Don't get me wrong I wasn't complaining or anything. ...From things I've read around the forum it sounds like the next version is going to be pretty good ^_^
  2. I get the same problem when I am selecting multiple areas.
  3. to get a picture in this post go to http://www.imageshack.us and upload the picture from your pc. Then click the "host it" button and it will take a fewq seconds to upload the image and then will give you a list of links you can use. Choose the one you need and copy and paste it into your post.
  4. I agree with flohrian. A great image but as a desktop background all my icons would get lost in the colors!
  5. Here is the original and another one for georges viewing benefit
  6. lol crazydadman. Hey dan I dunno if you read this above cause I edited my post after you posted just below it. Edit: Yes please Dan Just the face would be awesome. I can imagine you would be wearing teddy pyjamas so there is no need for a full body shot . If you want you can post it on here or email it to me at aaron [dot] wi [at] gmail [dot] com I am right in the middle of my dirty thick exams though so I won't be able to draw it any time soon (my exams finish in about a week). Thanks again. I need the practice.
  7. I think I also see a creepy person in that drawing. If you tilt your head left to a horizontal position you can see a man. And it kind of looks like stuff is coming out of his mouth or something. Edit: Yes please Dan Just the face would be awesome. I can imagine you would be wearing teddy pyjamas so there is no need for a full body shot Edit again: The effect you used to show which parts of the image you were tlaking about is cool. I think I did it right. edit: Nice loony toon effect! Reminds me of Elma Fud. Edit: That 70's show is awesome! Edit: Ham
  8. it doesnt emboss all the layers, it embosses the whole of the selected layer. So if the layer you are embossing is the top layer it might look like it is embossing all of the layers. If you use the selection tools to select just the text and then do the emboss effect it should work how you want it to.

  10. wow dan you're a machine. Thos pictures are great, my favourite probably being th first shadow the hedgehog one. CLICK ON THIS AMAZING SECRET BUTTON!!!!! 13_15_4_14_1_18 nice picture. The second effect is awesome. How do you get random from your name? EDIT!!! I GET IT!!! BACKWARDS!!!
  11. ...how can we tell you how to be creative... look on the tutorial board and see some of the things that can be done with paint.net and try and think of your own way to make one using different techniques.
  12. to outline anything you can do the following... - Cut out and paste the image that you want to be outlined onto a blank canvas (so you can see the checkered background). - Duplicate the layer. - Select the bottom layer and go to layers> adjustments> hue/saturation. Set the brightness to -100 and click ok. - Now you should have the drawing you want outlined, and underneath should be a pitch black silloette of the image. - Select the bottom layer and do a gaussian blur on it by about 6 units (mess around with other values to get different border thicknesses). - You should now have a faint outline, however if you duplicate this layer a load of times you will see the border become more defined. - Now go to the layer which has the original image on it (should be the top layer), copy this image so you can paste it back into the canvas in a second (you will see why in a minute), and then delete it. - Flatten the whole image so everything is now on the same layer (image>flatten) and then sharpen the image by about 4 units (effects>sharpen). This will make the outline more defined. - Now create a new layer and paste the original image onto it (creating a new layer for the original image is very important here if you are going to go onto the next part below which describes how to make the edges of the original picture smoother should they look jagged). - And there you go, an outlined image. This method will also work for text so give it a whirl! --------------------------------------------------------- Should you notice the original image seems to look a bit jagged at its border you can easily fix this by doing the following. - Duplicate the layer with the original image on (NOT the layer with the border on). - Select the second layer down and gaussian blur it by about 2 units. - Duplicate the layer that you just blurred a load of times and you will notice the jagged edges dissapear!!!! AMMAZING!!!! -And thats the end.
  13. For an avatar you have to change the canvas size to a maximum of 64 pixels wide and a maximum of 64 pixels high (64x64), then draw something and save it. you can then upload it in your profile. For a signiture you can make it any size (but not too big, perhaps about a wdith of 550 pixels and a height of about 150 pixels). Just draw something, upload it to somewhere like imageshack (http://www.imageshack.us) and then copy the link to the direct image, and then in your signiture box in your profile write... [img= http://www.tht-link-of-your-image.com ]
  14. lol the stick mans facial expression i think ^_^ Sorry Dan.
  15. If you cut out a photo, duplicate what you have cut out underneath the original, blur the bottom one by about 2 units, and then duplicate the blurred version a load of times is gives a nice effect that makes it looks smooth. Try it!
  16. write some text on one layer. duplicate the layer and change the colour of the bottom layers text to the colour of the border you want. Now gaussian blur it buy how ever much you want (not too high, maybe something like 10) and then duplicate the blurred layer loads of times and eventually it will produce a nice thick border. Then you can flatten the image and sharpen it and stuff to get a nice crisp border.
  17. awesome again. I think the first looks best because the second looks weird with him half invisible and then fully opaque but still good.
  18. really cool!!! a user defined angle would be splendid however it is awesome how it is.
  19. it lets you have more than one image open at the same time so you can work with multiple images in the same instance of paint.net.
  20. Dear Mr Rick Brewster. My proxy has been stale for several days now. I am very worried that I am broken. I would very much like to update my software but I cannot. Is there something wrong with me? Lots of love, from aaron
  21. interesting. I am now neutrally positioned towards the emboss effect. I neither hate its fat ugly guts, or love its soft cuddly guts.
